The timings on this week's one do seem generous between Ashford and Tonbridge. It looks like it didn't run today sadly.

Yes, Tonbridge conductors do sign beyond Canterbury West (through Sturry) to Ramsgate. I.e. Ashford to Ramsgate/Sandwich via Canterbury West.
They also sign to Victoria via Catford as well as via Herne Hill, and from Lewisham to Nunhead for diversionary purposes.

SE's 377/5s have 3-pin sockets in the first class area and the standard class area at either end of each unit. In the wall, one per each set of two seats I think.
Assuming Fawkham Junction could be used, which I'm not sure about, Ashford to Charing Cross via HS1, Fawkham Jn., St Mary Cray, Chislehurst would perhaps be marginally quicker than a non-stop train via Tonbridge. Probably only by about 5 minutes, if that.
