My understanding from an article in Today's Railways some months ago it is next going to do 3rd rail testing overnight between Hooton and Chester. After this it will run tours South of London.

The January tour with the 45/50 tour would the appealed if it was in Summer. It did not get back to Crewe until approximately 11pm. As a result a large part of the end of the tour would be in darkness.

The latest on HD01 is that Resources don't allow 1V98 to work 16.36 Holyhead - Cardiff Central. The driver between Chester and Cardiff does not sign loco and stock. In addition it was difficult to get a driver to prep it. Instead drivers and guard have been found for an earlier ECS to Crewe...

HD02 and 67029 are planned to go to Crewe ETD so there should be room on Crewe ATC.

It's not a line I go down much. Last time must have been at least 10 years ago on a steam train. However I do know that guards from three depots sign the route (Carmarthen, Shrewsbury and Crewe). Glad you liked it although in my opinion whilst completely different the Pwllheli line is better. Avoid it in peak summer though.

There was a day last week or perhaps the week before that a Class 230 stayed all day. I can't remember which number it was either unfortunately but was asked to make train crew arrangements to keep the unit out all day.
