As I, too, have the same goal, I shall help ye out where I can. In the North East, Pacers are the staple traction on the Darlington/Bishop Auckland-Saltburn trains. They run every 30 mins Mon-Sat between DAR and SLB (only every two hours to Bishop Auckland) and there are 6 units in use here, all Heaton allocated...hopefully! Up in Newcastle, They often frequent Metrocentre-Morpeth turns and Hexam-Nunthorpe/Middlesbrough services, although the latter may see a 156 sometimes. Can't say for sure how many diagrams there are.
In Yorkshire, Class 142s and 144s are commonly seen on the *sniggers* Penistone line between Sheffield and Huddersfield, and on the Harrogate Loop up to York. I'm sure there are other services they work but I'm not too clued up on the area.
Finally, the North West. Newton Heath has an allocation of 44 Class 142 units. These are normally used (off the top of my head)on Blackpool South-Colne (4 units) Preston-Ormskirk (1 unit), Manchester Picc. - Rose Hill Marple/New Mills Central/Sheffield (~7 units). They often show up on Man.Vic/Airport-Kirkby/Southport workings, and Blackburn/Clitheroe/Chester services alongside Sprinter units. One line to avoid if you're specifically hunting Pacers is the Buxton line, as they aren't cleared there.
Hope this helps you somewhat!
