Leicester to Birmingham Airport

Thanks for the wonderful advice I received from you all a couple of months ago in finding me a very cheap ticket from Leicester to Birmingham airport.

Same question again. Can anyone help with finding a cheap single ticket from Leicester to Birmingham airport. On Tuesday 15 November. To arrive at the airport at about 3pm. Anytime between 1.30pm and 3.30pm.

Can anyone please help? The standard fare is £17.50 though I have a senior railcard which reduces that to £11.55. And I would like to try and beat that fare.

The offpeak day single is the standard fare at the time of day you will be travelling and with senior-railcard discount is £9.20. I think that you can get that down to £7.70 by splitting at Birmingham New Street, or at Nuneaton and Coventry, depending on which itinerary you choose. The £9.20 is of course flexible as regards routes, so might be a safer bet for an extra £1.50.

A £3.10 Advance is available on the 1248 connecting onto the Bournemouth train at New St arriving 1413.

I can't get Trainline-powered booking engines to display this ticket as they force one onto an earlier connection at New St but Webtis booking engines such as Chiltern display the fare if you specify XC only. I'm sure Leicester ticket office should be able to sell you it.

For info, XC offer great value Standard & 1st Advances from Leicester via Birmingham to various destinations if travelling purely on XC.

900 bus Coventry - Airport (departs 1410 arrives 1448 - 30 min service).
