We are delighted to announce that we have teamed up with our friends at Railtalk magazine to offer a photo competition in conjunction with their 2018 calendar which is being sponsored by the forum.

Members are invited to submit a photo for use in the calendar, which should be sent to [email protected] . The winning entry will receive a £25 gift card and a complimentary copy of the calendar. Guidelines for submissions:

* The theme for entries is "Newsworthy in 2017".
* Please send the full resolution image.
* The size of your picture needs to be suitable for the layout of the calendar, which is attached for guidance - please take this into consideration when choosing a photo to enter.
* Please put "Calendar Competition Entry" in the subject line of your e-mail.
* Include your forum username in the e-mail.
* The closing date for entries is 23.59 on Wednesday 8th November.

The winner will be announced over the weekend of 11th/12th November. Good luck!

Is there any limitation on resolution? A lot of mine will be 72dpi - would this be a problem?

Minimum requirements would be 300dpi for print. With a resolution of at least 2000px width.

Thought so - I won't bother looking as I don't have anything of that high a resolution

Congratulations to Harbornite who was the winner of this competition with this picture of an IEP. A copy of the printed calendar is on its way, and the gift card will follow shortly.

Apologies for the delay in getting round to announcing this!
