It's ringing a bell but I can't quite place it, I'm sure I read about something happening here!

When did the last train travel down that line ? And where was this photo taken ? I would hazard a guess and say between Duke street LC and Wallasey bridge road LC looking at the quail track plans book.

That looks like the cutting through the town centre, so the photo was likely taken from Adelphi Street bridge.

Docks traffic finished in 1993, but wouldn't be surprised if a tour got it in shortly afterwards! It's been overgrown for as long as I can remember (lived around there 91-08, and still pop back occasionally) and I'm pretty sure a lot of rails are missing or have been tarmacked over now, particularly around Corporation Road and Wallasey Bridge Road.

Don’t know about last movements, think the photo, not mine, is taken from the Lorne Street or Price Street, in Town Centre of Birkenhead. Track runs in cut and cover fashion very like the Metroplitan Line as tunnel or cutting in the section between the old main line to Chester and the docks.

Officially still 'operational'. In practice, is it even still there?!
It's been heavily vandalised and burnt if it's the one I'm thinking of, but it still is physically present.
