Horton-in-Ribblesdale, barrow crossing forms part of the footpath of the Yorkshire 3 Peaks route

Similarly the barrow crossing at Matlock Bath is used by the Derwent Valley Heritage Way and is the main access to/from the Heights of Abraham.

I'm not sure the station counts, however, as it only has the one platform.

Tulloch (Scottish Highlands) has a barrow crossing. There are probably many others in the Highlands too.

I think that the down Fort Bill sleeper used to foul the barrow crossing too. Leaping off the sleepers onto the 08:40 ex Fort Bill used to involve walking across the track in front of the tractor. You did it in the company of the driver and guard though as the two services used to swap crews. I did it many times, sleeper to Tulloch, back to Crianlarich then Oban and back to Queen St.

Agreed, but how many people would want to cross from one platform to the other at Porthmadog or many of the other stations mentioned on this thread?
Barmouth: last summer they did a set swap there which involved two train-loads of passengers walking over the level-crossing to swap trains.

There must be some examples where there is a booking office (or more likely a ticket machine) on one platform only - so that a departing passenger in one direction would always need to cross the line after buying a ticket.

Navigation Road is particularly bad, because the level crossing is the only way to get between the Northern and Metrolink platforms. The barriers are lowered at least 10 times per hour, with trams at 6 minute intervals in both directions, all day long. Normally a tram goes through in each direction each time the barriers are down; sometimes they stay down for one or two passenger or freight trains to go through too.

It is advisable to change between Metrolink and Northern at Altrincham instead, where there is a footbridge.

Unless it's a Footy or Cricket day and you want to be sure of a seat from Alty ;)

Not Littleport, there is an underpass next to the level crossing.

Does that go directly between the platforms though or is it off the station and via the road? Admittedly, I don't visit LTP often (and have always used the barrow crossing myself) so highly likely I'm forgetting something. They don't mention any means of crossing the lines besides the barrow crossing in this 2018 article on the plans to extend the platforms and build a bridge.

It’s on the road. Sorry, you are right, I’ve just checked the satellite, and there isn’t access off the road to the southbound platform. That’s odd, I have used the station a couple of times and cannot remember crossing the tracks, but I must have. The article is interesting, I knew they were planning something, but odd that it’s only 1 platform.

Has a footbridge. And not only that, but there's a road (under)bridge a 2 minute walk away from either side of the level crossing.
So it does. I'm so used to seeing people crossing at the level crossing that I forgot.
