37175, 176, 177 sighted heading Southbound on the M5 this evening near Bridgwater - heading to Truro Depot.
Sister bus 37179 is at Camborne for attention
Yes agree with that!
Thanks for the heads up, wonder if they will night stop at Taunton? Sister bus 37179 is at Camborne for attention. Uni E400MMC 33479 also here VOR.
The trio stopped in Taunton for fuel and tacho break between 1730 and 1830 and have continued south to Cornwall.
Most Tridents are being replaced this year. Why are these being sent to Cornwall? Trident replacement?
Most Tridents are being replaced this year.
Correct - most are being scrapped, a few “newer” ones are being sent to Somerset.
Presumably the repainted ones will be the last ones standing?
I’m interested what will happen with Padstow, the 9.9m short wheel base Tridents only just make it into St Mawgan bridge and over Harlyn hump bridge. There’s a couple of places with less than an inch to spare width wise too.
The width is standard 2.55m but the length may be an issue but there are some 10.1m B7TLs - Bristol has a dozen ex London ones.
Don’t think they will swing onto St Mawgan bridge, there isn’t 10cm spare!
Harlyn bridge is wheelbase and overhang rather than overall length
Just posted on behind the scenes.
Volvo B7TL Wright double deckers 37175/6/7 have arrived in Cornwall tonight from South Yorkshire, providing full fleet strength for the season.
Know both those bridges but can’t help you other than those are the short deckers I can think of!!
I've got those two down as 37058 (YJ06XMK) and 37729 (YJ09OCA)
