Hi all I have just applied for a track operative position with network rail I was wondering if anyone could shed some light on to what kind of shifts I would be working etc also the salary was quoted as £24808 is there any movement on this eg overtime, premium rate etc? Oh and and how many annual leave days do you get?

Sorry for all the questions but just trying make sure I would be making the right choice going for this job over my current job

Thanks guys

Think you'll get 28 days holiday a year.

Shift wise it'll be eyther days, nights and weekend days and nights.
I'd check to see what rates are on over time.

Thanks for that, what kind of hours a week would it be and shifts (eg 6am/4pm, 8pm/6am) Think I read it was an average 35 hour week does that mean anymore than 35 hours a week would be paid at the overtime rate? Thanks

Think it'll be down to the depot on start times ect. .
Over time wise I'm not sure. It'll be an idea to ask the question.

I am about to take a two month course which will hopefully culminate in level2 certificate in rail engineering, level 2 nvq diploma in rail engineering track maintenance, work skills employability award, network rail personal track safety (pts) and track induction certificate (tic)

my questions are : is all of that feasible in two months ?
:if successfully completed, as a 50 yr old former office worker ,is there a good chance of long term employment?
:what is the pay like in real terms, ie overtime etc?

I have been unemployed for 6 months and am super-keen to get ack to work asap

Any info gratefully received.
thanks

Pts including tic is 10 days.

Pay wise it depends who you go with. Be it with the likes of Network Rail, Balfor Beaty ect or you go down the agency route.

What’s the name of the course your taking? And are you taking it at college?
