Hello, I was wondering if anyone had experience regarding roster processes on uk tocs ? I’ve been led to believe that everyone at my toc has to agree to a new roster but I always thought it was majority rules ?
Any advice would be aprpreciated
Thanks in advance .

Generally it’s proposed by the company and then scrutinised by the union (ASLEF for drivers) who negotiate changes/improvements as necessary. Examples would be minimising single rest days, getting long weekends every few weeks, etc.

The reps try to act in the best interests of the majority, but inevitably some people always end up unhappy with what is agreed.

Thank you very much.
I just wanted to see if I bandied around a roster and it was refused by one but everyone else was up for it including management if that one person could put a kybosh on it. Thanks for response .

I've never known a link be put out to be voted on by those working in it or that a single nay sayer would prevent it being implemented. As others have said they are normally agreed on by the union representatives (LDC/LLC) and local management on our behalf.

We can suggest changes where we think they would be beneficial to us all but they don't have to act on them.
