1H03 1248 hull trains delay at howden today

Good afternoon.

Anyone know what up with this service?
Is it likely to make its return to London at 1625?

It's probably a 180 that's decided to blow itself up again.

Can you elaborate on what the problem was?
If it was cancelled, it's likely it was formed of a HST set which can't call there.

Exactly what I originally thought but it appears there's Hull Trains departures from both Hull and Kings Cross at 12:48 today, with the 12:48 from Kings Cross to Hull seemingly encountering some difficulty between Selby and Hull: http://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/train/Y60025/2019/07/07/advanced

Possibly this causing an issue.

A fault with the barriers at a level crossing in the Broomfleet area is resulting in all lines being blocked.

Trains running between Brough and Selby / Goole may be delayed by up to 30 minutes or revised. Disruption is expected until 16:45.

A further dig around shows that there might be an infrastructure fault in the area, as a Hull to Manchester service is cancelled, and the succeeding York to Hull service is reported 16L at Selby

I hope this screenshot of the National Rail live arrival boards, at Hull Paragon station, may be of further help. There are still some delays and cancellations.

many thanks to everybody for your help - concerned passenger safely ensconced on the 180 and almost to Kings cross, on a fairly uneventful journey - must be a first for HT
