Guildford to Zone 6 boundary via Redhill?

I keep getting conflicting advice regarding whether this ticket is valid via Redhill, can anyone advise and is there any evidence to prove this?

The way I look at it, is Guildford - BZ6 station on a permitted route (without crossing into the zones en route)?

Unquestionably Guildford to Coulsdon South via Redhill is a permitted route as it is the shortest distance. Does it cross into the zones en route? No. So there's your answer.
