Hi

I want to travel to Calais from East or West Croydon. I have a 16-25 Railcard and a zone 1-5 annual travelcard (with gold card). I will be travelling with a friend who will be departing from Surrey Quays (no railcard).

Looking at BRFares, ECR-Calais (ex railcard) is £44.60 anytime day return. However, Surrey Quays to Calais is £33.90 anytime day return.

Can I use my annual gold card for 2 x Surrey Quays to Calais day return? If so, what are valid routes? Can we go via London Bridge or must we go via an alternative route?

1. According to BRFares GC discount doesnt apply ("no fares") but YP does.
2. The Surrey Quays fare is the same as New Cross. I doubt that the double back via LBG is allowable, so the route would be SQE-NWX-Orpington-Dover...
(3. I doubt SQE would be able to issue the ticket!)

Ended up buying Denmark Hill->Calais, which LBG ticket office issued without huge difficulty. Got a Gold Card Discount on that too. Perhaps not must direct but seemed reasonable compromise given differing origins
