News about both the 7XP and X5 were quite unexpected. From my observation, the 7XP has always appeared quite busy, at least at peak time out of Bristol, though I can't really comment on the full service as have never really used it. I appreciate the bridge toll will have had an affect on the service, though haven't paid much attention to that!

As for the X5, as far as I know, that is quite busy up down the route, and has been running for years, but I suppose the figures suggest otherwise. Still a bit of a surprise though.

Wonder what will become of the buses themselves? They could become surplus, and head elsewhere. Or perhaps the three 7XP E400s are some of those planned for Wells for 376? They'd be quite suitable!

Old news probably but 11111 is back in York after its Bath trial. So I wonder if any are coming this way. I've read some sources are saying yes but another is denying it!

What would happen to the contract between first and ct plus Bristol for the Metrobus route that the ct plus operate on behalf of first if first sold the company

I'm sure that any contract that CT Plus have with First will have a change of ownership clause (on either side) that would allow for the contract to be novated or to be terminated, depending on who is being sold and to whom. That's pretty standard stuff.

York is set to recieve a batch of MetroDeckers (going by the FirstGroup suvival thread), these MetroDeckers may be for the Park and Rides which could see the York Citaros head to Bath. I can't think of anywhere else that'll want them.

First York are already repainting and referbishing their fleet, there's a photo of one B7's on the First West Yorkshire & York thread - so I doubt that the B7's will go anywhere anytime soon.

The electric Metrodeckers are for the P&R. It was rumoured (and the trial suggests) that 9 Citaro artics are due from York; the only other current bendi ops are Kernow and Aberdeen IIRC.

York has just lost 2xB7. However, it was a B9 just repainted. They could send down 37359 back for woeful hybrid 39005 if they wanted.

Still being kept in suspense about the September changes. The changes this year happening a little later than usual, on Sunday 15th September. Previously it was either the last Sunday in August or the first Sunday in September that the changes took place. Hopefully by this time next week, there should be some more news. All we know so far is the 2 being re-routed via Henbury.

VOSA today already has 38 entries up for First WOE. For Bristol, up already are:
1/9
Change of route/timetable: 5 37 39/X39 T1/T2
Change of timetable: 178 349 376 PORT BRIS
15/9
Change of route/timetable: A1 1/2 24 35/35A 42/42A/43 72 M2
Change of timetable: 6/7 8/9 73 44/45 75/76 96 M3/M3X/U3
New: M1 M-F Aztec West-Centre
23/9
Change of timetable: U1/U2

Of course, as it is VOSA, a reported change to the '1/2' may actually only be a change to one of them, etc.

Interesting that First are registering M1 shorts...

I think M1 shorts are replacing the T3.
And I think the 35/35A and 42A may combine.

Yes, probably won't be any route change to the 1. I think there hasn't been any route change to the 1 for over 20 years now, since 1998 when the service was just extended beyond Henbury to Cribbs Causeway. So would be very surprised if there's any significant route changes coming up.

Intrigued though what the route changes will be for the 5, 37, 39, X39, T1, T2, 24, and 72. Guess we'll have to wait another couple of weeks to find out.

Are the route changes to 39/x39/178 related to the change of stops at Temple Meads?

I doubt it’s anything particularly significant
