For those of you who colour in ferries and waterways in the same way as us gricers colour in railway lines in Baker or Quail, the lovingly restored 1903 steamship the Daniel Adamson reached the bottom of the Anderton lift for the first time in 12 months this weekend. Earlier sailings only got as far as Acton Bridge.

Details of future trips may be found at

https://www.thedanny.co.uk/

These are not particularly frequent.

For those wanting to go further upstream on the Weaver Navigation, the Edwin Clark offers regular trips from Anderton to Northwich and back as well as up and down the lift itself.

Thanks for your post - any idea as to the rough price of tickets? Everything seemed to be sold out, and I found no prices! Impossible to know whether to try booking for next year.

On the Danny

Anderton - Acton Bridge (or vv) £20
Anderton - Sutton Weaver (inc Marsh Lock) (or vv) £50
Anderton - Ellesmere Port (or vv) £65
Acton Bridge - Sutton Weaver (or vv) £27

All include return bus travel.

The cruises onto the ship canal are very expensive due to MSC pilot costs.

And on the Edwin Clark

Lift only £8.25
River only £5.25
Lift+River £12.25
