If an interview stresses you out then any safety critical role isn't for you.

It's very normal and well documented how long the recruitment process is on the railways.

Kimbob It's been just over two weeks my friend don't go chasing anyone just yet. I wish you the very best of luck with the outcome
Thank you fingers crossed

Hi kimbob ,
I’ve gone through the process with Northern this year and been successful , just awaiting a training course , all I can advise is try to structure your answers using the STAR method
Situation
Task
Actions
Result
Give as much information as you can , don’t rush , and don’t be afraid to go back to a question , the scenarios are your time to shine , and also don’t forget to research what’s going on in the company , who’s who , etc ,
Get through this part then just the psychometrics to start on ,
I to am a conductor
Brilliant congratulations to you

Hi Kimbob
I had driver interview in January and despite sending numerous emails to HR I didn't get an answer until May. As long as it says 'application in process' on DB site then I reckon you'll be ok. It is annoying being left in limbo, but its worth the wait I start end of September.
Wow brilliant it's the not knowing and colleague's asking if I've heard anything no news an all that so staying positive

Interviews stress me out and I've held safety critical & traincrew roles for two decades... so, do I leave now?

A rather silly statement. Besides, some of the ones who performed best at interview turned out to be the worst candidates... loads of sick, lateness, SOL incidents, reports - the state of candidates nerves at interview tends to be a result of how good or _____ the interviewing managers are.

Sorry my words probably didn't come across well.

I mean in the wake of an interview as expressed by a previous comment.

Just to update received the dreaded unsuccessful email tbf it was a positive on the feedback basically to have a chat with a DTM and to elaborate on the driver's role in future interview . Don't want to sound negative but 3 was told they was successful before I had my interview due to me being on annual leave and on holiday at the time
