The supposed regular fleet for the X39 are B9TLs 37757-67 (branded). They are a bit tired and prone to the odd failure so they used to be joined by the odd B7TL on occasion but after recent fleet moves, you're more likely to have a B9TL covering.I don't know much about this, so can someone tell me if the X39 buses are B7 or B9? I'm guessing B9.
That's to deflect tree branches to hopefully stop them smashing the windows!Ta. And what is the silver bar outside of top deck on front left for?

Is there any context to this or is it every stop on every service?I see as the new school year has started First are back to old tricks of skipping stops when a service is running late!
I've not heard anything more on that one. Tommy Walters on 8 August suggested that the PVR for the U1/U3 would increase this Uni term from 20 to 41 and possibly Abus (???) might be the operator supplying 8 buses to the uni services. The U2 morning peak requires 7 buses I believe so Bath will need a heck of a lot more buses/drivers to work all that lot. It would be great to know if anyone has any more info. Any more end of life buses out there???!!!Any news who will be operating the additional U3's in Bath?
Thanks AllanBob - I'm seeing Alan Peters tomorrow evening, so I'll ask him if he's to be involved again.
Yuck! That's some way of getting rid of passengers! Depending on the time of day your local stop might or might not have a service and you might or might not have to change. As the main service will be subject to traffic delays but not the shuttle then it's anybodies guess if they'll meet up in the peaks and, in the evening peak, you want to be quickly off the decker to guarantee a seat on the single decker!I see that the Bristol 24 changes in Ashotn are revised and are now confirmed by James Freeman...
Mon-Sat 0700-1900 the 24 is to terminate at the Robins, with a 24A running from there to Ashton Vale.
Outside those hours the 24 will run to Ashton Vale via the new route as planned.
Single tickets will include a free transfer.
3-stop Hop tickets will be valid from Langley Crescent to/from Robins on both routes.

Yeah. I can't see that lasting long.Yuck! That's some way of getting rid of passengers! Bring back the Bristol REs!
In theory that seems fine, but the press reports were that the AV locals were up in arms about deckers along Silbury Rd when the first DD plan was release with daytimes extending beyond Langley Crescent loop to Silbury Rd loop. They'd probably still be in arms...That seems like a poor solution. I can't see why the route can't go:
- Luckwell Road (as present)
- Winterstoke Road (double run to/from Sainsburys roundabout)
- South Liberty Lane
- Risdale Road
- Ashton Drive (Right to make an anticlockwise loop of....)
- Silbury Road

- Langley Crescent

No need for convoluted 24's and 24A's and you miss out the about one stop by the Robins. Now, I don't know if Silbury Road is appropriate for buses but the rest of the route definitely is. Or am I missing something
Not a surprise! The VOSA Bus Service registrations for today, 05-Sep-2019, include an item from First registering cancellation of Service 179 (Bath - Midsomer Norton) wef 10-Nov-2019.

Out of interest I looked on the Timsbury Community website. It states BANES Council are expected to sign a contract with CT Coaches to continue the 179 from 10 November on a two and a half hour frequency until August 2020.The VOSA Bus Service registrations for today, 05-Sep-2019, include an item from First registering cancellation of Service 179 (Bath - Midsomer Norton) wef 10-Nov-2019.

To add to the above due to an accident between Clandown and Peasedown around mid-day several services were on diversion including 66728 on a 172 which left Radstock at 1258 and travelled to Bath via Clandown village, Radford, Camerton, Tunley to top of Dunkerton hill. Some strange route allocations in Bath this afternoon. 32280/84 on X39, 37764 branded for X39 on 172, 44553 on D3, 44526 on 3A, 44907 on 20, 47448 on 4.
53819 was on the 3. There was quite a long queue for Foxhill, the considerate driver was obviously determined not to leave anyone behind and left with about 15 standing.
36234 parked in the bus station looked quite ridiculous still carrying full frontal Leeds Pulse branding.
