07:55 departure this am. Left on time i(sh) - considering the fire twiddlers, drums, pipes and media on the platform.
Good idea to use Platform 2 so everyone wasn't out in the rain - only the front half.

Looking forward to my turn Friday.
Nice little trip planned. Thursday it's the 10.00 from Kings Cross to Aberdeen, followed by a quick trip to Inverness. Then it's the HC to York Friday morning finishing with a short sprint to Stevenage. A little xmas treat to myself.

Yes, HSTs gone for good (as they will be on the whole of LNER from next week).

I saw The Chieftain arrive at Falkirk Grahamston this Evening on it's way up whilst awaiting my service into Edinburgh.

A sad day in my opinion, where particularly in First Class, you have replaced Armchairs with Ironing Boards !!

First class on Azumas is very pleasant, in my opinion. Can we just get over this, now? They're here. Move on.

Why should we just accept a worse service? Come January we’ll be paying more for a worse service.

To be fair, the seats are hard at first, but seem to 'bed in' after a while.

It is sad to see the HSTs leave this route. I have many fond memories of them on London - Perth trips in GNER days. Their nostalgia-based business model seems to have left its mark!

I notice a Scotrail HST in the background of those photos. A little reminder that all is not lost. :D

I agree.

If Scotrail could improve their first class catering (eg complimentary hot meals in the evening with alcohol) and offer competitively priced advanced fares that allow lounge access then they'd be onto a winner!
Their refurb HST is far superior in terms of comfort, ambience etc. in first class compared to the cheap-plasticky feeling Azuma.
