SWR doing their very best to show why they score so poorly on customer satisfaction today.

Thank you for contacting us.

Unfortunately, our Retail and Commercial Team, have come to an agreement where we will no longer transfer third party season tickets, onto our SWR Smartcards.

I understand that previous years, we've requested an image of your season ticket, to upload onto our systems that enables us to transfer your ticket onto your Smartcard. However, as stated below. we're no longer able to proceed with this.

Of course. How dare I purchase my season ticket from a train company (GWR) that actually offers incentives. You can see that they're not even bothering to come up with a BS technical explanation. Nope, it's "because **** you, that's why."

To be able to load a ticket onto a Smartcard it has to be in the TOC's season ticket database.

If they've sold it, it's simply a case of choosing the correct ticket and pressing a button.

If it's been bought from another retailer they need to key all the details in by hand, which (obviously) takes longer. That may explain it.

Heaven forbid they actually have to do some work.

What additional incentives do GWR offer, out of interest?

(SWT used to be quite decent, then SWR got rid of all the perks they could)

An annual season ticket gets you 2,500 Nectar points. Otherwise it's the same as SWR, 2 points per £1 spent.

In years past I bought it from Southern for a £25 iTunes card.

So you want to but from TOC and then have it placed onto a Smartcard by TOC B? I'd say no as well ,although we'd be more than happy to sell you a ticket on any TOCs Smartcard. You do know GWR do Smartcards as well that would be valid on any TOC? My favorite for testing is Newcastle to Manors, so far on a GTR,Northern LNER,EMR and GWR card.

When was the LNER smartcard launched?

There are all sorts of actual or potential issues with the railway's implementation of ITSO smartcards, but I struggle to see this as being one of them.
