Looks like an issue of some sort between Seaton Carew and Billingham, possibly involving a Grand Central 180 which left Hartlepool at 0920 heading for Eaglescliffe.

That 09.20 Grand Central is now running almost 2 hours late just approaching Thirsk according to RTT so whatever the problem was seems ok now.
The following Grand Central service is just a few minutes behind it running 39 minutes late.

Suspected dragging brake on the 1A61 GRand Central, brake isolated, forward at 10mph below line speed, terminated at York, ecs to Crofton depot.

Just seen that, from RTT looks like an issue at or in the vicinity of Seaton Carew and then again shortly afterwards. I imagine the first train will get cancelled at York, of course the impact if this will be felt on this afternoon's GC departures from Kings Cross as well.

Thank you.

The last time I was on a 180 was at Nottingham, back when EMR had a few, and the service was cancelled at origin - due to the brakes being stuck on.

Are brake problems common on this class?
