Has anyone heard of any progress on discussions/plans/campaigns to re-open the branch from Longniddry to Haddington? The Rail Action Group East of Scotland (RAGES) pages don't seem to have had an update for a while https://www.rages.org.uk/Haddington.html

RAGES often has stalls in Haddington on market days on the last Saturday of the Month.

I'm dubious this will ever happen due to capacity issues etc. It's maybe in the same category as Penicuik at best.

I do think Haddington has a pretty good bus service at least in terms of the X7 so I'm not sure I support this unlike with East Linton which conveniently was still situated on the main line.

While the route is I think available from the ECML until it reaches the A1, I can't see any way of reaching the town itself. It's a cycle path.
