GWR has just released details of Wales v France services

GWR operating 27 trains to Cardiff before kick off, with 2600+ extra seats.
25 trains (including 5 extras) after the match with 3000+ seats

Great Western Railway will provide 52 trains and more than 27,000 seats for fans attending Sunday’s Wales v France Six Nations fixture.
Trains are expected to be very busy immediately after the match at the Principality Stadium and a queueing system will be in place outside Cardiff Central station. Fans are reminded to allow plenty of time to queue to board trains safely.
GWR will operate a total of 27 trains to Cardiff ahead of the 1500 kick-off, with a further 25 trains carrying rugby fans home afterwards.
In a repeat of the system in place for Wales’ Six Nations fixture against Scotland last month, supporters travelling east towards Newport will be asked to queue on the square in front of Cardiff Central, rather than from Riverside Car Park.
GWR is delivering five additional services before the match, providing an extra 2,600 seats, with circa 3,000 extra seats (on five additional trains) after the event to get people home, on top of the usual train timetable.

For more information, or to check your journey, please visit GWR.com.

Looks like TfW also providing some extras from Pencoed, Camarthen, Abergavenny and Newport, before the match, with post match extras to Treherbert, Caerphilly, Merythr Tydfil, Ebbw Vale, Rhymney.
The other operator from Cardiff (cross country) isn't providing any extras

CrossCountry only run Cardiff - Nottingham with no intermediate stops in Wales other than Newport and Chepstow. Whilst some fans might be going to Chepstow as well as Gloucester/Cheltenham it hardly seems worth CrossCountry (who regularly cancel Cardiff services anyway) to put on extra services for a Wales v France rugby game.

XC are hardly likely to put in more services when they can't run what they already have

Looks like GWR has lengthened a few Cardiff-Portsmouth trains to 6car today.

They would probably do it more often, but there are about dozen platforms along the route that only fit 5 cars (although some are only few metres short of getting all 6 cars in).

However the post match 17:46 from Cardiff appears to have been allocated a 2car 158 <D

I think the "you tried" award goes to TfW running an extra Ebbw Vale then only putting one carriage on it:

Hopefully they find another 153 (as this looks to also be a /9, so I assume toilet locked out) over the afternoon

Edit - a 158 has been tacked on - so carnage is averted!

1337 Swansea off Paddington was terminated Reading for some reason. Bet that upset a lot of people and I wouldn‘t want to be on the one following…

TfW's rugby extra from Carmarthen this morning was just a single class 150! The following train was a single 153!
