Any suggested Station between Stafford and Euston for a day reunion of old friends?. Or similarly station with close buy eateries?. Maybe somewhere in the middle or midlands?

Birmingham New Street is lovely. Lots of wonderful eateries and places to enjoy beverages nearby

If you want variety New Street is a decent station nowadays and you are close to lots of restaurant/pubs. If you want somewhere a bit less built up hop on a Cross City train to Bournville there are some decent options in Stirchley.

Would Stafford and Marylebone be an option? There are some better options between those two (in particular Leamington Spa and Banbury).

Atherstone is the one definitely. There is a pub that serves food very close by called The Kings Head (next to the canal). It is a very short stroll into the town centre where there are lots of cafes and eateries. The hourly LNW semi-fast arrives and departs there from Stafford and Euston only 5 minutes apart!

All of the other easy options (direct trains) have exactly the same issue: a long walk from the town centre with very little nearby (this definitely applies to MK, Rugby, Nuneaton, Tamworth and Lichfield - I've never been to Rugeley, but that's a bit too close to Stafford anyway).

Does it have to be Euston? How about somewhere like Leamington Spa? - direct trains from both Marylebone and Stafford

You have a bit of a walk to get to anywhere in Leamington also, depends on how far you are happy with walking of course.

Wolverhampton and the Great Western pub next door to the station?

It had some good recommendations in this recent thread:
See post 10 and onwards.

Tamworth, some cracking pubs including the Tamworth Tap, CAMRA National pub of the year two years running!

Even the nearby Wetherspoons is quite smart and the clientele seems better than usual!
