Plausibility of AWC running 12 car (7+5) ITE's

I was just wondering how plausible it would be for Avanti to run 12 car trains on their busiest services.
Do platform lengths allow this in certain places?
What would be some other operational problems?

Sorry if this has already been discussed. If it has can someone point me in the right direction.

Thanks :)

On the 805s and 807s i believe they have ASDO fitted so that could be used to allow twelve coach trains to call at stations with shorter platforms.

Hmmm, so the only service remotely plausible would probably be to Birmingham New street by the looks of it, without some major jigs to the timetable and stopping patterns. Depends how much you want to run trains off the edge of platforms.

London - Birmingham would have issues at Birmingham Intl, though you could be ok with hanging about 12m off the platform. Coventry is fine apart from platform 4.

Are the Voyager services that the 80x will be replacing currently highly loaded?
Wouldn't Avanti start scheduling Pendolino instead of 807s if those couldn't cope? The 807s are electric only, so you wouldn't schedule those on the routes the 805s will be on, but coupling a pair of 805s is much more likely.

807s have the same capacity as a 9 car pendolino.

I would say there is very little if any chance an 805/807 would ever be used together in day to day service. Obviously emergency recovery would be evaluated in the same way it was with a 221/390 combo.
