I think when they say the time it took you for the test it means how many minutes it took you from start to submit rather than what date you completed it.

People that took around 10 minutes will probably progress faster than those that took 30 minutes for example.

Always looking for speed and accuracy.

That's my interpretation of it anyway.

Do you think? I cant recall there being big focus in the instructions. They normally (well at Atrium court) aren't trying to catch you out and emphasise what they're looking for.

Some of the questions had a fair bit of reading and analysing. I did them with time to check each one and submitted prob 5 mins before end. But this time thing is now getting me worried.

Sorry to anyone who has failed at SJT.

I've probably got another week of waiting , as sat SJT on 30th and it looks like the full 2 weeks to get these results back too.

With my 1st online test it took 14 days exactly for result. After my interview for conductor this week, my interviewer told me if you fail it (the interview) you'll prob hear about it sooner than if you pass it. In my mind that's because they need to put further work into it, like organise date for medical. So hopefully a longer wait is a good thing

Yes I know someone who applied in 2019 and was invited to the assessment centre 2 weeks ago. It’s a very long process

Gutted for those who have not been successful at this stage.
Good luck to all those still waiting to hear back.
Fingers crossed for myself at this point.

RE the time taken to submit the SJT, I got through the questions quite quickly, as it was a case of deciding what was most important to me and just going with the feeling. But I did go all the way back through the questions to just read over them and my order of answers again. It still took me around 20-25 minutes.

It’s never fact when you get these words of advice from current employees, and I get that. I was informed to do the test as fast and accurate as I could. Due to that I treated it like I was trying to get the best time possible. I was 11 minutes from start to finish. I’m still waiting so I suppose IF I get through this stage then it could be an indication that time is a factor.

Good luck everyone still waiting and again commiserations to everyone who has had bad news.

I applied in 2019 passed the psychometric tests and DMI, and put in reserve pool which got extended for a year due to covid. DMi I'm know will have expired, but the psychometric tests will expire (5 years ) in August this year. Did get a couple of emails in that time to ask if details still up to date. If I pass the SJT I'm hoping the psychometric tests will still stand, but I'm under no illusion about how long things take in the railway.

When I look at my application status there's no mention of my ordigital application , although that was under Abellio.

Taking from what little I know about railway recruitment processes. If you’ve made it through to the next stage, then at the moment hearing nothing is probably a good thing if you’re in that scenario. Traditionally they’ll inform the unsuccessful first, then the ones that meet the grade but only good enough to make it into a pool for next time and lastly the ones who have been successful in getting through to the next stage.

I also don’t think people should be focusing too much on whether they did a good or bad test, they may also have used the applications to whittle it down. It’s very cut-throat. Starting with thousands of applicants and getting it down to often less than 50 for jobs, it’s a harsh business.

I get that they're looking for those who instinctively know what to do, but obviously with training that would come naturally. If you haven't worked in railway though I'm hoping there's leeway for time to absorb the info. I showed a friend (ex driver) and his daughter (driver) the sample questions, and I think they had a good debate about them lol.

Either to my benefit or detriment mate lol. I suppose time will tell. I sort of get both sides. In one way it’s good to be able to make decisions quickly in situations but balancing that with making the correct decisions also. Good luck to you!

Yes I have also heard about some lengthy debates on the same questions we got. Some really persuasive theory’s on different decisions make you realise there is no right and wrong answers.

Still not received any email. Keep refreshing every 10 minutes lol
Probably unlikely to hear anything over the weekend based on other comments I have seen in this forum. Try to relax and enjoy your weekend. I suspect most will start hearing the next week or two. This is just a guess though.

That’s now 15 days since I completed the tests and still nothing for me either. Don’t know if that’s a good sign or not
