I received a Notice of Intended Prosecution from Chiltern Railways (attached) regarding a journey between Leamington Spa and Birmingham Moor Street.
I forgot to renew an expired card, and since the card selection was still saved on my Trainline app, I bought tickets with the card applied without realising. I intended to renew the card ahead of a specific journey, but got sick and it genuinely slipped my mind afterward. When I spoke to the railway staff member who took my details, I was surprised that my card had expired and I only later remembered what had happened.
I've written a letter that is more detailed than the examples I've seen on the forum and would appreciate some feedback.
Should I look for and address any other bookings made with a railcard after my railcard had expired? Or should I wait for their response first? I rarely travel by rail now, so if there are any, it would only be a few local journeys.
