Well, here we go again, another year... let's get out there and get any unbashed track marked off in our atlases!

This thread is laid and fettled ready to be used at linespeed from Wednesday.

Gosh, I'll be first to post then.

10 01 25 - GWML

Crossover west of Slough on reliefs to terminate on P4 eastbound due to disruption (person struck).

Like a lot of other people that I spoke to at Chesterfield this week, I did the Dore West curve and the Beighton (old road to Sheffield) diversions. Also Sheffield to York direct (via Pontefract Baghill)

13/01/25 The junction just north of Bedlington (does this have a name?) to Ashington.

I presume this is where the line diverges from the old Blyth and Tyne ECML diversionary route.

Thanks. I was guessing that was its name but my Rail Atlas is still in a cardboard box somewhere after our house move.

Lucky I didn't try it today ... big farce after 9E09 jacked between Northallerton and Darlo!

The third track between Tottenham Hale and Meridian Water.

Not sure it really counts as a separate route, though?

Stechford to Aston both ways
Portobello Jn to Bushbury Jn both ways

Avanti weekend diversions.

Although back in 2014, I "accidentally" did Stechford to Aston westbound-only around midnight. Working late in Coventry, I caught the last train to Birmingham (where I was staying), it was the CrossCountry that went via Aston, Perry Bar, and Soho and round the back way into New Street! I had no idea it was a "PSUL" train until I saw Villa Park all lit up!

Yesterday (Monday 24th) had a day up at Carlisle, decided to go to Dumfries and back with 156435 (for £1:90 return) as that's only the third time I've been up that far north and don't know when I'll manage to get up there again.

Then due to a broken rail between Weaver Jn and Crewe, had to go to Manchester to get back to Leominster so got the line between Preston and Bolton on TPE's Glasgow-Manchester Airport service (397012-horrible units-seats way to hard, quite rough and windows filthy) but that's another bit of track around the Manchester area.

Clay Cross South Jn to Clay Cross North Jn (I know, glorified crossover!)
and then
Chesterfield South Jn to Chesterfield P3 to Tapton Jn to Beighton Jn to Woodhouse Jn
1702 ex-St Pancras

Strictly speaking, Chesterfield P3 to Woodhouse was first done via the same train in August 2022, but the weather was so atrocious (thunder, heavy rain), that I couldn't see a thing out of the windows, and attempts to take pics of Tapton, Barrow Hill, Beighton and Woodhouse Jns proved to be futile!
