Anybody know what's happened to Varamis Rail at the moment. They haven't ran for a day or two now.
Maybe but not completely sure however I have noticed the paths have been taken off the system now.Strange , might be due to the 321s having some kind of issue caused by the heat at the moment , Either that or their drivers are complaining about the conditions on the 321s due to the heat possibly ?
The Birmingham-Mossend service has barely run during the last fortnight or so therefore before the current hot weather.might’ve become problematic.Anybody know what's happened to Varamis Rail at the moment. They haven't ran for a day or two now.
It's probably easier just to say "I don't know" than make wild guesses...Strange , might be due to the 321s having some kind of issue caused by the heat at the moment , Either that or their drivers are complaining about the conditions on the 321s due to the heat possibly ?
Understood, but their Birmingham-Scotland service hasn’t run for nearly 2 weeks prior to that.WCML was closed between Carstairs and Carlisle all of yesterday.
Really , What rules did Varamis violate to get a prohibition order ?I believe the ORR have issued Varamis a prohibition order so doubt you will see them much in the future.
From what I heard it was something to do with putting 3 pantographs up at the same time (when rescuing a train) which they are not authorised to do. Should be no more than 2 when they run a train.Really , What rules did Varamis violate to get a prohibition order ?
Looking back at the WCRC prohibition notice it didn't appear on the ORR website until about a month after it was issued. It will interesting to see what it says when it does appear because, as you say, most are resolved and it doesn't result in the permanent termination of a service.Does anyone know what kind of actions would be required to comply with this order, from a quick read of the ORR's archive of Prohibition notices (last updated in 2023!) most say complied, but most are engineering/maintanance rather than rolling stock (with the only one for rolling stock that I quickly found being Central Door Locking on the Jacobite).
We don’t know that they have no work. What will Varamis do now with their 321s and newly purchased 325s
Now that they have no work for them?
It depends what the issue is. No-one has any firm information as to what the problem might be - there is nothing from either ORR or Varamis about it as yet. Anything else is rumour and supposition. What corrective action? Interlocks or just reminding their drivers not to do that?
Certainly something up given the paths disappearing...
Well, we don’t actually know what it is that has happened, so no one can answer that unless we know that. What corrective action? Interlocks or just reminding their drivers not to do that?
Well there was a two week gap at least. Maybe there's nothing to worry about, but they were cancelled for a pretty long period en masse. Around the time they dumped their urban art exhibit in Carlisle for a couple of days. What paths have disappeared? They all seem to be present and correct on RTT:

Speaking of Varamis and their urban art on Wheels, they seem to make no effort to clean any graffiti from their 321s , many of them look quite tatty. Any other TOC I know cleans graffiti from it's rolling stock quite quickly but some Varamis 321s have been covered in graffiti for months now with no attempt at cleaning in sight. I can't speak for the internal condition of their stock but the external condition definitely isn't great.Around the time they dumped their urban art exhibit in Carlisle for a couple of days.
Do you mean Varamis no longer like the mossend off loading point or was it vandalised? The offloading point at mossend is condemned so part of the reason they aren't running
What corrective action? Interlocks or just reminding their drivers not to do that?
I thought that they aren’t a Train Operating Company which carries passengers, but a Freight Operating Company. Does any FOC spend the money to regularly clean graffiti off of its load-carrying wagons, apart from when they’re re-painted, however seldom re-paining happens?Speaking of Varamis and their urban art on Wheels, they seem to make no effort to clean any graffiti from their 321s , many of them look quite tatty. The platform is out of use till repaired, weather varamis like it or not I don't know,it isn't vandalisedI also recall one of the services failing at Crewe and blocking the fast line, which is actually the last time I remembered it running.
