New facility in Gateshead

I hear that Network Rail are planning a new engineering facility in my hometown gateshead (gonna be chuffed if it goes ahead <:D) the regional news gave very little information....so does anyone know what this is facility is supposed to be? and what sort of operations/ stock will probably be seen?

Gateshead council planning application reference is DC/11/00378/OUT includes usual detailed plans etc...

Ching for NR as Kings House has been sold to Northumbria Police and they are planning to build a hotel and other stuff at the Askew Road site as well.

Before long Network Rail will be a very large landlord and less of a railway infrastructure company.

No - i just didnt type very well

I think it must be all of the Newcastle Maintenance team. Thier area stretches from Whitby to Berwick via Haltwhistle. My main wonder was whether anyone else was going in there
