This week's Camden New Journal reports on a presentation last Monday (February 12th) at the Architectural Association School of Architecture in Bloomsbury that proposes putting a 'forest park' on top of Euston station, with - if I read it correctly - a linear park running from it, all the way to...
Does anyone know if there are good alternatives to the Trainline Ticket alert that covers all routes and all operators (or at least Avanti and LNR, who I am specifically interested in)?
The Trainline has changed how theirs works. Instead of just needing to enter the route and date, it now asks...
The Northampton Chronicle & Echo website reports on work being done on Kilsby Tunnel. The article also includes photos from inside the tunnel, which I can't get to reproduce properly here.

Apologies if the answer is already on here somewhere. If it is, I can't find it.
I need to get from Euston to Heathrow Terminal 5 on July 12, a Piccadilly Line strike day, so am stuck with tfl Rail or Heathrow Express.
It seems the cheapest way (unless I hop on bus 350 from Hayes & Harlington)...
Driving past on the A5, it's been obvious for a while something significant has been going on inside the main northern shaft at Kilsby Tunnel. Of course, inside on the train, you see nothing.
Now all is revealed in this feature in the Daventry Express (known locally as 'The Gusher' after the...
Could one of the routing experts answer a quick question:
Using an Off-peak day return from Rugby-Lichfield (City or Trent Valley), is it allowed to travel out via Birmingham New Street (to break journey for a couple of hours) and back direct via Nuneaton?
Thanks.
I get involved in 'sense checking' a couple of tables in the National Rail Timetable and have just bee informed that, "For this and future timetable production the decision has very recently been made not to include information such as catering symbols and mileages."
Going forward we have...
Well maybe.
The Northampton Chronicle & Echo reports that Northampton Borough Council has indicated that it would like to see bays for six coaches incorporated in plans for...you guessed it...the old Greyfriars Bus Station site.
Coach passengers are presently picked up in the wilds of Victoria...
LM's sale site appears not to be offereing any sale prices for travel beyond 15 January - despite para 2 of the T&C saying travel may be made up to 12 weeks hence.
Have reported via Twitter to LM, who have in turn reported the problem to the website manager.
Will advise when I hear more.
Does anyone know why advance tickets on the 2230 and 2330 Euston-West Midlands are blocked on 9 and 10 November? I've checked regularly since the dates were released and am sure tickets for these services (only these services) have never been released.
I know that on these dates the service...
I've just checked some times from Rugby-Euston for September, and the LM times are different to now. I don't have time to rummage further at the moment, but it seems some significant changes are at hand. Does anyone know more?
Present southbound from Rugby (M-F) is:
xx12 to Northampton...
Does anyone know why London Midland seem incapable of making the correct automated announcements - particularly on southbound Crewe-Esuton services at Northampton?
Time after time - either at Northampton or shortly after leaving - we are told that the train is bound for Euston (at least that...
