With the impending closure of the Rhymney line for electrification work will the number of Class 231s in service on a daily basis change? Will the Class move onto other services during these periods?

I was watching the diversions at Stetchford this morning and there was a London to Soho working and return both using the same two 730/0s. As stated above a little odd I thought. 730211 was on its usual trip to Rugby and back.

This was a pair of 3 car units yesterday and a pair of 2 cars today. Is there a shortage of 158s or is this a permanent feature?

Well the 197 trips to Brum don't appear to have lasted very long!

197012 did make it to International this evening with 002. There now appears to be one diagram a day that brings a 197 to Brum. During the week it was a three car set and today a pair of two cars. The service comes from Holyhead.

Pity. I need 197012. I will keep an eye on it though. Thanks for this.

I noticed, from RTT, that there is a service from Holyhead to International today which is a 158 to Shrewsbury and then a 158/197 to International. Is this possible?

There has just been a report on our local TV News that the WMR problems are with the 172s from Snow Hill and not the 196s. A new Timetable has been introduced. The problem appears to be the shortage of wheel sets. Further reductions in services were hinted at. Whether WMR use any spare 196s to...

Are there sufficient 756/1s to run a full service on the TAM lines or are some 756/0s required as well? Is this the aim until the 398s are introduced?
