Most of the services from Bury and Bolton terminate at Shudehill. There's services like 17 from Rochdale. Also Flixbus and Megabus serve Shudehill rather than Chorlton Street.

June 2024 reopening of the line between Clitheroe and Hellifield for passenger trains

Hopefully the booked class 156s will be used, though in practice the Clitheroe to Rochdale line sees any combination of 150 / 156 running most of the week. Just because a 156 is booked doesn't mean that's what will run the service. On a positive note looking forward to using this new service...

Timetable change/improvement in Forest of Bowland from 8th April

This new service 11 started today, noticed no buses tracking on bus times, what vehicles are 21 Transport using?

First West Yorkshire & York discussion

The 10 was an every 12 mins service years ago, now hourly. The 7 provides Fulford with its frequent service, the 59 could do the same and cut the 10 back to the Station?

Rail services to be included as part of Bee Network: how should this be achieved?

GMPTE liveried 150136 at Whalley Station GMPTE and Merseytravel liveried Regional Railways trains did run regularly to places like Clitheroe in the 1990s, though not under franchise. If the disconnect between metrolink and Northern Trains in terms of ticketing is anything to go by, franchised...

Stagecoach Ribble did use VR's and sometimes Olympians on the 225. The problem with the bridge is that at some point work was done on it, or the height clearance was reclassified which then prevented the use of double deckers. Regarding low height double deckers, the Enviro 400 MMC Stagecoach...

They may have a similar number of seats, but as these aren't as spacious as the B10s. It will be more uncomfortable when the buses are full. Wonder if they will try and up the frequency on Valleyline to every 20 mins again, like they did with the 225 for a short time. It is a shame deckers...

Rail services to be included as part of Bee Network: how should this be achieved?

Looking at the current structure of how many trains operate through say Victoria from Yorkshire, Lancs and Merseyside, will these proposals mean passengers won't be able to say book a national rail ticket from Clitheroe to Rochdale or Mills Hill to Burnley? One of the big bugbears with...

Just walked passed Greggs looks open with people bringing purchases out. :)

How the term "rail replacement bus" is viewed.

This is also the reality of travelling on many a Northern Class 150 where the 3/2 seats are practically on the floor! Having worked in schools, 3/2 coach seating is a right pain for school staff who have to be spread out throughout the coach, not just sat in the front 2 rows that whoever...

    Northern Unit Refurbishments

Aside from the unrefurbished seating and lack of WiFi, I’ve found that these Non Northern interior 156’s have a better seating layout with more legroom, more tables and have diffusers over the lighting. All of these things an improvement over Northern’s abysmal legroom and bright white exposed...

June 2024 reopening of the line between Clitheroe and Hellifield for passenger trains

Rather than a long wait at Victoria, and to still travel the Blackburn, Bolton stretch you could get the previous Clitheroe service (07.41) and swap to the Ribblehead train there?

Yeah think I just had 3 for 3 carriages on the brain lol

June 2024 reopening of the line between Clitheroe and Hellifield for passenger trains

This does beg the question why 4 car Trains can't now run without the rear 2 locked out on the line if it was done in the past. Clitheroe has actually had a reduction in capacity since the 153's went and 150/3's moved to Yorkshire.

June 2024 reopening of the line between Clitheroe and Hellifield for passenger trains

A single 156 will probably get a bit cosy, considering there will also be the usual mix of passengers going between Manchester, Bolton and Blackburn etc plus those getting on to head over to the Dales. I'm wondering if by the time it gets to Clitheroe will it be full and standing, turning...

June 2024 reopening of the line between Clitheroe and Hellifield for passenger trains

Good to see that the trains will serve the Ribble Valley stations, I wonder if a 4 car or 2 car will run the service, considering the back 2 carriages are routinely locked out after Ramsgreave & Wilpshire these days. Traction wise, I wonder if it will be planned for class 156 operation, or just...

Trivia: Bus routes that cannot use double decker vehicles

The 22 Valleyline service between Clitheroe and Blackburn in Lancashire used to have double deckers (and would benefit from them at peak times now), but was confined to single deck when a low railway bridge on route was lowered/ refurbished.

    Manchester Metrolink

As a regular commuter on the Rochdale line, not impressed by this, the frequency is more important than getting a double tram. Will mean having to plan my train/tram connection both start and end of day more carefully. Though on the positive side if it means a tram actually runs every 12 mins...

    Greggs in Manchester Victoria.

Have been in the Costa At Victoria over the last week and the staff have said they have seen a big uplift in sales with Greggs being shut. The Greggs at Victoria does always seem busy, and has long opening hours. I’m not sure what other outlets Victoria needs, already having WhS, Starbucks...

First West Yorkshire & York discussion

First will probably take on the extra services eventually, make a song and dance about how they've expanded the York network, then a year down the line hand back the contracts for the marginal services. I wonder if First tickets will be able to be used ie First Day, before long?
