    59003's Move to Eastleigh

That was my thought exactly - could end up all over the place I guess. A wet and windy evening in Blazingsmoke for me then....until it turns up!!!:)

Hi Folks. Does anyone happen to know if this train actually set out from Immingham this morning please? I was hoping to catch sight of it in Basingstoke this evening......

    Whats your most favourite DMU

For me, my local 159s are very comfortable. Also pleasantly surprised by a Scotrail 156 from Glasgow Central to Haymarket recently. Comfortable seats and great views out of plenty of glass.....seats were mostly well positioned as well to actually line up with the windows:o

Are there any areas in the British Rail network that you're a bit iffy on?

A glaring gap in my knowledge is the rail network around Bradford, Halifax, Huddersfield, Barnsley. I keep meaning to get one of those Rover - thingies and explore, but for some reason have never got around to it:cry: I'm not too bad on the rest of the country though....

    Fatalities Discussion

I'd like to echo this working with people with depression / anxiety every working day. Boxing Day and the day after New Year's Day are the busiest and hardest days of my year. My thoughts are with those that have to cope with the aftermath of these incidents - family, rail staff and the...

    Proactive Scotrail Guards

Hi Mate!! I thought the same... but the 9.00 cross-country from Glasgow to Motherwell with a Roundabout Ticket is 100% valid on that train. Checked with the Train Manager both times before I boarded....No luck involved!!!!!:D

Strangest thing you've heard/seen on the rail network...

I've posted this before somewhere- but the best for me was a few months ago where I was on a very packed train from Blazingsmoke to Waterloo where the guard announces "there are plenty of seats towards the front of the train...please move along the train to avoid congestion". A rather loud...

Public Telephones - London Waterloo station

Just picked up on this......I'm going to have a look next time I'm up in the smoke re this, just out of interest. I've only posted "what I'd been advised to do....." late, on one rather stressful evening.....and I bet I'm not the only person to have been "caught out' though....Bloody phone will...

Public Telephones - London Waterloo station

This just doesn't stack up as an argument....I HAD a valid ticket for travel from that station - but not for that platform - and I showed my ticket.... Yep, I don't know whether your statement of pay phones making a loss is right or wrong, but why retain one on the "wrong side of the...

Stations you don't want to go to/be at

Having just been there for the first time in a couple of years (4 times in 2 days) I'd like to nominate Motherwell. An utter mess of a station - and the Samaritans posters don't exactly lift the feel of depression there.....station staff are good though.

Public Telephones - London Waterloo station

Hi Folks. My mobile died a nasty death last Friday and I needed to make an urgent phone call from London Waterloo. I did the usual "look for signs and have a wander around" and was surprised that no public phone was in evidence. I then asked the PCSO that was patrolling the station where I...

    Proactive Scotrail Guards

I've just come back from a (mainly) business trip to Scotland and I would like to comment on how attentive, friendly and helpful the Scotrail on-train staff are. I bought the SPT Roundabout ticket on a couple of occasions to do a LOT of line bashing around Glasgow, and had my ticket checked on...
