Ah OK, so it's to keep it out of the way of southbound XC trains. Presumably it's not in the way of any northbound XC trains while it waits at Shenstone.
Thanks. I'm sorry about using the term Carriage Sidings. I mean 1-11 Sidings. And thank you for correcting me on the flyover. I think I understand this a lot better now. I'm grateful to you and The Planner.
Ah, OK. I misunderstood the symbol. To my mind it's pointing north and would be viewed from the north. But what you're saying is that you drive past it, change ends and view it from the south. Its purpose is to allow you to drive north on a line which is only signalled for southbound movements...
Thanks. So it's basically saying "you may not move any further south that this if you're shunting"?
How does the similar-but-different symbol for 1490 differ in meaning from that of 1489?
Thanks for the link to the help page. I've read it in full. Could you explain what the quarter-circle symbols are such as the one labelled 1489 on the Milton Keynes map?
I noticed that if you type "York" into the Location, Previously or Subsequently box in Detailed search, you get a lot of options, none of which is York. To get York to show you have to type "YRK". This is on Chrome on a Windows 10 PC.
It was nice to be able to switch between modes AFTER you'd done your search. Now, unless I'm wrong, you have to decide BEFORE you do your search.
(Same disclaimer as Mike WM - brilliant website!)
On Wednesday (7th) I needed to travel from Milton Keynes to Euston in the morning (8am) and back in the afternoon. On arrival at MKC there were almost no trains south because of a broken down train between Northampton and MK. When I got back to MKC around 3pm (7 hours later), they were still...
I knew about the bus validity but assumed the train validity was underground/overground (as in the orange lines) only. Which other "normal" trains can you use a travelcard on (assuming your travelcard covers the correct zones, of course)?
Suggestion: could you make it so that you can order by your chosen column (eg order by arrival time)? Sometimes it's better to wait for a later train to get there sooner and if you could order by arrival time the best train to get would be much more apparent (if you were in a rush).
