    Cornish Clay Traffic

It only goes to Cliffe Vale and the reason it was cancelled today is, because, as has been stated no wagons were loaded last week.

    Cornish Clay Traffic

Hmm I'm not sure how the weighbridge at Carne Point effects the Stoke mainlines train though

    Cornish Clay Traffic

Or it could have something to do with Imerys re calibrating all their loaders and weighbridges.

    Cornish Clay Traffic

Sounds like good news is in the offing for DB regarding the clay contracts, and also it has been noted that not 1, yes that's right NOT 1 RHTT train was worked by Colas or any other FOC drivers in Cornwall, every single one was worked by DB drivers from St Blazey, so as usual all the rubbish...

    Cornish Clay Traffic

They all wear DB uniforms is another clue

    Cornish Clay Traffic

Im only guessing but I think the fact that DB locos work it and it goes to St Blazey every day probably says not Colas

    Cornish Clay Traffic

DB appear to have enough resources to not only run the clay services but the RHTT as well which yet again has been crewed exclusivley by them, much no doubt to the disappointment of the hovering vultures

    Calling On Discussion

Is there not still a "calling on" signal from the Newquay branch into the branch platform at Par ?

    RHTT - filling them up

Not all the time as 3J11 St Blazey-Par via Penzance jets water in most places AND then lays Sandite at Hayle in both directions

West Coast Railways Suspended (now reinstated)

What an earth has a container falling off a train accidently got to do with a company who have failed to present a good enough safety case to NR ? and have staff who act so badly that had they done the same thing 90 seconds earlier the consequences would have been horrific. Put your house in...

West Coast Railways Suspended (now reinstated)

Some would say this should have happened a long time ago and the railways will be a safer place for the suspension. Lets hope they and other companies of the same ilk put their houses in order and are back sooner rather than later, as it would be a crying shame for the charter train market to fold.

    St blazey turntable

No you are correct again that numbers have dwindled but all DBS drivers book on by phone, and there are no managers there the nearest are at Westbury I believe
  13. L

    St blazey turntable

You are correct although calling the train crew depot largely disused would be harsh on the 20 people who work there daily. The plain simple facts are certain train operators expect everything to be free and unfortunately these days DBS have become wise and will no longer foot the bill for...

    St blazey turntable

DBS are nothing more than a profit making company, if figures are to be believed about how much is needed to repair the turntable then it is no wonder they won't put up the money and lets be honest why should they. The simple solution is for whoever wants to use it repair it, If my next door...

    St blazey turntable

Redudancy ? Turnable ? I think I realise what you are trying to say, and no I don't work for DBS but why should DBS be expected to repair something they don't use, if other companies want to use then pay for it , simple really.
  16. L

    St blazey turntable

And there lies the problem, DBS don't use it so won't repair it and nor will companies who want to use it pay for it to be repaired, the 1st steam tour has not been cancelled yet and that is on April 28th so watch this space
  17. L

How many turntables still out there?

Maybe you are confusing it with DBS's agreement last year that companies could use it but AT THEIR OWN RISK which allowed a couple of specials to run late on in the year, but I can assure you it has NOT been repaired
  18. L

    St blazey turntable

I repeat what I earlier said that IT HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED and nor will DBS repair it because they no longer use it, now whether they agree to let companies at their own risk use it like last year remains to be seen
  19. L

How many turntables still out there?

Untrue, it is not fixed and is still out of action
  20. L

    St blazey turntable

I see once again some are calling for DBS to repair the turntable at St Blazey, the one that they don't use, just so other companies who are not prepared to pay for this facility can use it. Maybe DBS should spend a ridiculous amount on this and in doing so put in jeopardy the current clay...
