    Middlesbrough railway station masterplan

There are Transport Committee meetings planned for 13th June (delayed from 27 May) and 16th June as per the TVCA website so hopefully we will get some clarity on work schedules going forwards. Given these have been waiting since late 2023 I’m sure they’ll be keen to get work moving as soon as...

How close does a replacement bus stop need to be to a station?

On my old network in the North East the furthest RRB stop we probably served was Great Ayton where buses stopped at the Green near the Royal Oak in the village itself. A mile or 20 min walk (uphill) to the actual station. Caught out one of my friends who was a co-ordinator and contacted me to...

Tyne and Wear Metro - Washington loop extension

Would dropping services between Sunderland & Pelaw to every 20 minutes be much of an issue? That way you could have them every 10 mins to Pelaw, with half going one way round the loop and half the other direction without too much complication? Sunderland stations would still have 6 trains an...

    New Northern map

T There is a swap of 158s every night between Yorkshire and NE running empty between York-Heaton & return

    Rail Replacements and Hire-ins

South Lakes pop up everywhere for Arriva (Northern) as do KT’s Coaches pretty often.

    Flixbus Discussion

I imagine all of the seats on the GT12's will move out into the aisle. Certainly the TC9's have this as standard.

Weird Places for Services to Terminate

In the same area you have the peak extra from Newcastle that randomly terminates at Stockton, as the unit then runs empty to Darlington to stable for the evening.

East Yorkshire Motor Services, now part of Go-Ahead

Believe they’ve won the Conyers School contracts in Stockton

    Arriva North East

Believe Arriva are keeping the 323 to Castleton and have chucked the 318 to Ugthorpe which requires a minibus and will go with the 96 to 21T. You can run the 323 with a big bus as its simply Danby & Castleton, hence will interwork with the 95 now and will be worked by (on paper) the spare Evora...

    Transdev Blazefield

I’d imagine they’ve been withdrawing them as test ran out so I doubt they’d be usable

East Yorkshire Motor Services, now part of Go-Ahead

The 0900 would be the main tourist bus out of York for Castle Howard usually. I guess the faster route enables it to get to Malton to have a decent break before the return trip.

    Storm Eowyn Disruption - 24/1/25

There were several routes closed by Network Rail until 1200 today… that may have got extended due to damage. That includes Cumbrian Coast & Windermere, S&C and Morecambe. Penistone & Calder Valley (Halifax-Hebden Bridge) both closed for majority of yesterday, so Northern couldn’t have ran trains...

    Storm Eowyn Disruption - 24/1/25

All as normal down here on Teesside, successfully operated a full school operation this morning. Northern's Whitby school train seems to have made Whitby okay.

    Arriva (Beds, Bucks, Herts)

Preusmably not until they get replaced with the new Evora's which we're told in NE they're delayed til around June time, so assume it'll be April/May before the first lot arrive.

    Arriva Midlands

Bit of a lie given they’ve ordered plenty of diesel buses for delivery in 2025…

See the date on it, from 31 Dec 2024! That’s the latest fare chart

Fare table shows it should be £2 for that journey... with a maximum single fare on svc 24 of £2.20

East Yorkshire Motor Services, now part of Go-Ahead

Yes it’s not new, just a new brand name. East Yorkshire (as part of Go Ahead) manage the former Procters business they acquired last year which included Fourway Coaches (Cleckheaton) along with Compass (Stockton), Esk Valley (Whitby) and the Procters business at Leeming.
