The cab of 29289 (up to the first set of sliding doors) survives at The Cab Yard at Cynheidre, Wales. Nothing on the Cab Yard website yet that I can see, but it was reported in the most recent Railways Illustrated.

An Area D Railpass is £22.70 for a week so the discounted day return works out cheaper. A monthly pass (£79.50) would only be cheaper if making more than 25 return journeys in a month. Formby has a ticket vending machine so maybe try using that if the ticket office is difficult.

Did see battery 777142 at Liverpool Central this morning waiting to leave with the 0901 Ormskirk train. Unusual to see one in passenger service away from the Headbolt line. Whether that was planned or a late change due to the earlier Northern Line disruption I don't know.

It's a very rough estimate. Back in January 2020 HETT posted on the 503 page that they needed 5 Gold, 10 Silver and 25 Bronze subscriptions to cover the costs of storage and provide funds for restoration. That is 5x30 + 10x20 + 25x10 = 600. Don't do any restoration work and you can knock off...
