Class 390 Pendolino - why does it create motion sickness?

Never been bothered by the tilt, infact I love it, especially heading south over Lammington viaduct. Travel on the East Coast LNER if you dont want to tilt. Cost you an extra hour though.

    Johnstone - Kilwinning 100mph

Straight enough track, only a 10mph increase. 2tph run fast from Glasgow - Ayr and 2 in opposite direction. Faster services for Ayrshire customers.

    380s on the Ayr Line

There is no room to extend the turn back at Neilston for a reasonable cost. 4 car 380's are adequate for services on this route. There is no reason 385s cant go to Neilston at the moment if required.

    Johnstone - Kilwinning 100mph

This definitely needs to happen. I dont see any major obstacles to increasing the speed.

    Class 156 Largs services

On Saturday Scotrail were running 156s between Largs and Kilwinning due to the stormy sea tripping the overhead wires at Saltcoats. Do guards still sign this route or were special arrangements made? Anyone know if this will become the alternative of choice, as these situations are becoming...

    Scotrail Class 385 Discussion

East Kilbride services currently have 6 car 156s. 6 car 385s would suffice the route during peak and reduce to 3 car outwith. Cant see 320/4s being used. 385s are brand new and transfer to Scottish Gov after 25yrs. Wouldn't cost a lot more to lease compared to 320s. 4 additional trains for...

    Scotrail Class 385 Discussion

My source is someone involved in the EKL project. As for the 385s, the original design had no front corridors but the new rolling stock is essential for EKL electrification. I agree the front gangways are unnecessary and are restrictive. Having 385s without them would still allow them to attach...

    Scotrail Class 385 Discussion

Plans for electrification of East Kilbride are well advanced. Double track for the whole route and 2 platforms at EKL and Hairmyers. The 385's will be ordered to provide the capacity. As for Berwick, I believe TPE will begin stopping there from Dec 2020.

    LNER Azuma (Class 800/801)

I find 385 is noiser than the 380s particularly when slowing. The 800 and 385 are both quick off the mark though.

So now the government wants to see if the Chinese would be cheaper

Just get it built. Who cares if a Chinese company does it? Those who say nay seem to get more than their fair share of airtime. Where has all the positivity went?

TPE Class 397 ('Nova 2') construction and updates

I see. I never knew that If only the Preston crews could sign them then the 802s could work a full circle up the ECML and down the WCML or for diversions.

Corrected vision 6/18 in 1 eye, 6/5 in other. Combined 6/5 which is better than 20/20 vision. Is this acceptable?

TPE need to sort out the ride comfort. It really let's the 397 down.
