Evocative railway sounds - what 'tingles your spine' ?

The noise before PA announcements on what I believe are all ex Virgin Trains mk3s now with Greater Anglia, Chiltern and GWR that sounds like a harp. Midland Mainline mk3s also got a three chime sound for the PA which just sticks in my mind for whatever reason.

    Great Central Railway (North Notts)

As for your query about the tram, there is no current plan to extend to Ruddington. Lines two and three to Chilwell and Clifton respectively concluded a month ago or so and are now open to the public. Clifton isn't far from there and some of the line is built on cleared GCR trackbed in Wilford.

    Introductions

Evening! I was previously a frequent poster on here under the name Sulzer25 but I've decided after all this time to start fresh as I've recently got back in to the railway hobby after some encouragement and I'm enjoying it. As some of you know I disappeared a few years ago off the scene as I...

222101 & 222102 to move to EMT this week

happens on pres lines. The owner of ex-Freightliner 47292 through the contract agreement had to remove the FL branding before 1st January 2008 otherwise they may have taken further action. No worries at the moment though as it's being done up in large logo

    GCR/GCRN Question.

The FL 47 (292) is currently on shed being painted in to BR Large logo. Rather funny last week, before the undercoat was applied when it was sanded you could see the original BR arrows and even more amazing the British Railways crest that were originally there! And yes, 20154 is quite a beast...

What is the most unusual thing you have seen on the railways?

I see them sometimes! Funny thing happened once, was on a 156 in P2 at nottingham. Saw another 156 depart P1 on a Lincoln run. 2 minutes later, the NR emergency radio noise came from the cab of our train telling the driver of 2Exx (the onbe which I had just seen) to slow down as he was...
