    Kirkstall Forge & Apperley Bridge

Correct, but those staying up for 3 a.m. Eternal will find trains have stopped for the night and face a ruinous cab fare.

    Kirkstall Forge & Apperley Bridge

I heard that the three letter code for Kirkstall Forge will be KLF. If so, will the passengers be bound for Mu Mu Land?

How do you solve a problem like Mirfield?

Lots of youngster on here! It barely seems any time since I regularly rode on peak hauled trains diving under in both directions at Heaton Lodge!

    Caledonian sleeper on West Highland

    Thanks folks!

    Caledonian sleeper on West Highland

Is this still usable as a conventional service train since the franchise was split off? There are no fares showing in NRE, but the service is listed as being there. I suppose the excellent advances that used to be available Mallaig > Glasgow using this service for a good later departure weren't...

How to show split tickets when asked?

What happens if you are on along journey and show all your tickets to the guard at the first opportunity and he grips them all? Could you then run into bother later in the journey with a different guard who might think you were re-using the portion that was valid at the time he was checking...

    The Great British Bash Off

High mileage, a Man of Steel move, and quality traction! Sounds like a winning GBBO combination. Only worry is rancidness after the move causing big deductions.

    Cumbrian Coast evolutionary question.

Judging by what I saw today, 37 bashers could do with evolving a means of getting across the footbridge at St Bees in double quick time! Go go gadget legs.....

    Cumbrian Coast evolutionary question.

I had thought this TBH. A significant problem could be that cranks in general rather than just 37 bashers are not endowed with numerous opportunities to pass on their genes anyway........

    Cumbrian Coast evolutionary question.

In the hypothetical scenario that class 37s and mk 2s with window bars remained on the Cumbrian Coast for several tens of thousands of years (although given the average age of Northern's stock, this may not be as hypothetical as all that), would class 37 bashers eventually evolve heads narrow...

    The Great British Bash Off

How do you know what that particular Man of Steel had or hadn't researched??

    The Great British Bash Off

Indeed. Hence the generous reward that would be forthcoming! This is exactly the sort of risky behaviour that makes for good telly IMHO. If it were a few minutes later the footage of him legging it down Euston Road, coffee flying everywhere, would be priceless.

    The Great British Bash Off

Someone of my acquaintance this morning made a -7 off the Lowland Sleeper at Euston into the 07:00 Kings Cross > Edinburgh. This obviously includes the walk along Euston Road. While in practice the sleeper often arrives early, this isn't something that can be banked on, and his planned move was...

    The Great British Bash Off

An interesting twist. What would be the reasons for elimination? Too many Voyagers? Behaving like a complete vegetable in the vestibule of the Anglia 37s? Generally bringing the hobby into disrepute on national telly?

    The Great British Bash Off

I did it right enough, just to say I had basically. Was very glad to get out at Glasgow though. Done the Chieftain throughout a few times, but always in First. Now that VTEC have abolished EC's excellent rewards points (and replaced it with worthless Nectar Points, grrrrr!) I doubt I'll do it...

    The Great British Bash Off

I did the 12:25 Plymouth > Glasgow HST throughout in second class last year. Even in an HST this was an endurance test too far for me!

    The Great British Bash Off

Would need to be done in FC to be tolerable. However this eats into the £500. Such are the dilemmas facing competitors on TGBBO!

Do Dundee > Newquay on a summer Saturday instead. At least that's a tram.

    The Great British Bash Off

I've been off the Forum scene for quite a while. I've had a pretty 'interesting' year or so, and have had to get my head together in lots of ways. Back on the scene now and plenty of bashing still going on :-)

    The Great British Bash Off

More than just one day to recover. In reality you'd probably never set foot on any train again.
