Loco hauled services operated by WCRC on the Windermere branch

I have made a video of the two week operation if anyone is interested. There is plenty of onboard footage as well as lineside shots as: Heading to Windermere - Natland, Oxenholme, Kendal, Hallgarth, Plantation Bridge, Staveley Crossing, Staveley Station, Reston, Blackmoss and Windermere. Coming...

Loco hauled services operated by WCRC on the Windermere branch

Lots of cake, bunting, silliness, finished off with a pint and a jump in off the boat!

Loco hauled services operated by WCRC on the Windermere branch

Would West Coast be able to run through trains to Manchester? That is what a lot of people round here want. I'd love to have locos on the line all the time but I think the through trains from the airport are of greater convenience to tourists and locals heading further afield for the day/holiday.

Loco hauled services operated by WCRC on the Windermere branch

Enjoy, make sure you wave to me when you pass. I skipper the Tern which will be the 1600 to Lakeside so will pass you on your way back from Lakeside. So far it's definitely free on the branch. I've used it multiple times. Never been asked for a ticket or anything. Lovely staff on board willing...

Loco hauled services operated by WCRC on the Windermere branch

No its not but you can get the Stagecoach app. The afore mentioned day ranger ticket will cover you for the bus but not for the boat/L&HR. The day ranger ticket is valid, annoyingly, for a single trip on the lake with the idea that people pick up the bus at the other end. Assuming you get the...

Loco hauled services operated by WCRC on the Windermere branch

Don't worry about the L&HR connections. They wait as long as needed for the steamers. Latterly they've been using the 42073 Fairburn or the 1245 Barclay.

    December 2017 Timetable changes

Yes i did but there's only one post that refers to services up the Wcml and only in passing. It's an interesting thread for TP South and North services though. Sent from my F8331 using Tapatalk

    December 2017 Timetable changes

Hi, I searched beforehand for a thread relating to this but couldn't find one. I am wondering if anyone has any info about changes coming in December 2017, particularly related to Arriva Northern and Transpennine routes as they have the potential to have major changes. I seem to remember at...

Amny pictures of it in at Heysham? I've never seen anything other than a 14x there. Saw the train at Preston on my way home earlier. I tried to upload an image but it wouldn't work. Something about a missing security token.

Northern Steam services on the Settle and Carlisle

The Sunday service still runs, I used it the other week. In winter the unit never ventures onto the S&C anyway and does two Preston - Clitheroe - Hellifield returns. In summer I think the unit travels all the way to Carlisle, which actually means there's only one link north, and one south...
