LU staff vote to strike following dismissal of employee for issuing a refund without a customer present

Yea whole thing just doesn't make much sense. If a customer asked for help with a refund, why would they then just decide to walk away? Unless that was their plan all along. Everyone in LU knows to lose a job at least one of two things needs to happen - you don't follow procedure or steal LU's...

    London Underground - CSA1 & CSA2 (2022 & 2023 intake)

Training ends on a Friday, you would normally start at your station then following Monday. LU's week is from Sunday - Saturday. Part time or full time makes no difference to the training you receive.

    London Underground - CSA1 & CSA2 (2022 & 2023 intake)

Yes it will be a big problem for you. You need ID that is not expired, or you won't be doing the assessment.

    Pay dispute at London Underground

Now all the fun and games will begin again for the 2024 claim.. just hope it doesn't take another year...

    Pay dispute at London Underground

It's unfortunate those sellouts can't be forced to give their extra £1k to the RMT members that won it for them as they were so happy with the 5%.

'Bumping' - is it becoming a serious problem?

For some reason this reminded me of a day I had a few years ago. A male asked me to open the gate for him so he could meet his girlfriend on the platform as she was coming with a pram, to help her down the stairs. I thought he could be lying but I'll give him the benefit of the doubt as he...

Central Line still closing, last trains all within the next hour.

    London Underground - CSA1 & CSA2 (2022 & 2023 intake)

There is no CSA2 night tube. Only CSA1 night tube. The full time 35hrs per week is CSA2. The part time 20 hours a week is CSA1. Off course it depends on your personal circumstances and if you only want to work Fri/Sat night or if you prefer to work during the week.

    Pay dispute at London Underground

Oh but we are not. Nobody is denying LUL is part of TfL. You seem to think it's all one big company, which is wrong. They are separate employers with separate terms and conditions, and separate rules and policies. Your claim of LUL staff being 'in denial' and finding it 'tiresome' says a lot...

    Pay dispute at London Underground

I wouldn't call it denial, probably because of the fact our contract is with LUL, not TfL. Yes they are both part of the same corporate family, but they are still separate employers. It may be the case for travel agreements, but each negotiates under different collective bargaining...

    Pay dispute at London Underground

I've not read details about the legal side but surely he can't be 'forced' to do anything. I would expect as the Mayor he has the choice to use it or not use it. Regardless he already said the minimum service levels legislation "isn't fit for purpose for TfL in relation to safety requirements"...

    Social Media Policy questions

People still use trashbook? What's wrong with Yammer/Viva? I'm not a 'fan' of it but we use it at our work, it does the job. As for your group, doesn't matter if it's unofficial, named differently, screened posts, it's still primarily a work group. That means it comes under your company's...

LNER or XC Train Manager Conditions

Sorry, should have stated I don't work for them.

LNER or XC Train Manager Conditions

Any information on what the wages and conditions are? I'm always curious how life up North compares to here in London.

    Pay dispute at London Underground

I stopped reading here, if you think rejecting the offer and balloting for strike is a 'neutral position' then you are just trolling, not wasting my time reading further.

    Pay dispute at London Underground

In what way does it seem reasonable? February RPI, which has been used as a figure for our pay rises for many years up until 2022, was 13.8% this year. When RPI was low, we accepted the figure, but now it's high, it's suddenly not used anymore? Yea that sounds reasonable... Not. Add the fact...

HM Inspector of Railways ORR - Trainee

It says it's a trainee role, after 3 years become an Inspector, I would have assumed being signed off, the wage would increase? Maybe it's decent outside of London but not here!

HM Inspector of Railways ORR - Trainee

We get these inspectors sometimes.. interesting role. Shame the salary is low, anyone know what the salary is once qualified after 3 years?

    Filming inside London Underground stations

Yes the staff member was wrong, but next time ask to speak to their supervisor instead of name calling. On a side note to help your brother staff on the gate line can always assist him to navigate the station and make sure he gets on the train, and arrange someone to meet him at the platform...

    Heathrow Customer Host Progression

Don't think your link is working. I'm not on the lookout for a new job but some interesting non rail roles on there, just pointless none have salary showing.
