Yes it’s really quite something. All analog and an absolute spaghetti of wiring underneath (nothing colour coded). They were gifted the railway but it’s built into an industrial unit. Bonkers stuff!

You see that kind of thing happens to me sometimes and that’s why I’ve stopped using Morrisons. Yes… I wasn’t expecting to see one of those running on the line, but it isn’t mine anymore so normal service has been whatever the opposite of resumed is. ;) It was quite a stressful experience...

Going back to this one. It might be 31156 pre refurbishment. It was certainly refurbished by June 1986 and it’s definitely a non ETH class 31/1.

The class 17 ended up in industrial use, Castle Cement amongst others from what I remember? A pretty remarkable survivor though definitely.
