Southern DOO: ASLEF members vote 79.1% for revised deal

Good luck to the guards. DOO is a joke. Drivers should not be risking jail time for dealing with drunks and idiotic wasters on platforms jumping on the side of trains, whilst trying to deal with other duties. Guards are much better placed to deal with anti social behaviour / drunkeness or...

    Gatwick Express Industrial Relations

I am totally against DOO, but how will this work? As mentioned before some of the Southern traction is not equipped for DOO, nor are the routes. Are they going to start putting mirrors up all over West Sussex? And what about routes where SWT / GW or whoever is the primary operator?

    Gatwick Express Industrial Relations

What does the driver do when there is some idiot larking around by the rearmost doors of a 10 / 12 coach train? Presumably a guard can position himself much more appropriately to monitor such behaviour, shout warnings to stand clear, or intervene? How will time be saved if the driver has to...

    Train seats

Having travelled on a wide variety of trains over the last 3 months, I thought it was interesting just how varied the standard of seating is, irrespective of the distance or type of train. Obviously it is very subjective, but it is amazing there is such a variety and how they can make a journey...
