Slight changes you would make to liveries to make them nicer

The TPE 'concept' liveries above with the yellow front still look great to me.

    Interchange Matters

You should add to the Kings Cross review the news that the Kings Cross Development landlord are using facial recognition technology, and its almost impossible to walk around above ground without it scanning you.

Government announces independent review into HS2 programme

Amazing, although they've built the Crick Institute on that land now.

East Midlands Railway livery and station branding

Still got that Stagecoach SWT/EMT typeface on the carraige number though...

    What's up with RA10?

The answer to most of the above unanswered questions is a very wavy "historic reasons".

    Reading Green Park Station

Too many freights to/from Southampton and cross country services, probably.

Hidden Gems (stations , viaducts etc)

    East Midlands Trains' Franchise extended.

Not to sidetrack too much, but mobile phone "permeability" was specified in the tender for the IEP Class 800 trains. A really good inclusion after many years of Voyagers/Meridians and to some extend the pendolinos being basically faraday cages on rails.

Why is the Thameslink Core So Slow?

Here's a tube map from '87, beautiful http://www.clarksbury.com/cdl/maps/tube87.jpg . Note the Farringdon-Blackfriars line opening 1988. I theorise that the refusal to add non TfL/ARL to the standard tube map is entirely a financial decision. As we all know, TfL's finances are in the toilet...

Weirdest Oddities Still on the UK Network?

Brighton and Paddington could still receive cars into the station if some bollards were removed. Brighton still has the tarmac and road markings down!

Weirdest Oddities Still on the UK Network?

Victoria Line do not operate with a driver in the back, the new driver jumps in the cab as soon as it arrives at Brixton/Walthamstow.

    Class 710 LO

This is not entirely true, there are diversionary routes once the line into the Works is open.

    Very nice, thanks Peridot.

    2040 Tube Map

Could you trial swapping the 'West End' Northern Line to a hot pink colour perhaps? Would be interesting to see what the map looks like with overall two different colours there.

    Heathrow Southern Link proposals

Ugh, just what we need. More rail links thought up by outside parties, without considering the context of it applying to the whole network. Theres multiple options and service patterns to link to Windsor line, Woking, or even Crossrail from the north of Heathrow.

    Class 345 progress

that is the risk TfL took when they demanded Crossrail be a part of their network, as opposed to Network Rail track!

HS4Air – “An M25 for high speed trains”

Linking the GWML, Heathrow, then Gatwick to the Channel Tunnel sounds like a great idea, even better than the original HS1/CTRL. However this HS4Air pitch doesn't seem to have any thought behind it, how would we fund it, especially now the government are seemingly moving away from mainland...

Is Heathrow Express a good use of resources?

In the Evening peak, not a single fast train stops at Slough. All trains are fast to Reading, apart from one an hour which is fast to Newbury or Didcot I believe.
