    Lothian Buses and ECB Discussion

I was looking for total depot capacity if this is possible? I have found a Lothian fleetlist on UKBuses which is a good indicator, but some depots might be undersubcribed etc. The VOSA information for Lothian Group is a nightmare, I honestly have no clue how they manage it themselves! Thanks, PT

    Lothian Buses and ECB Discussion

Hello All, I'm after a quick bit of help with Lothian depot information. I've done a lot of searching online but with the various legal entities for the Lothian group I cannot find an overall depot capacity for the 8 Lothian depots...is there anyone who does have the information to hand as I...

    Class 745 Stadler FLIRTs

Assuming only the 745/1's have dual Greater Anglia and Stansted Express branding, I saw 745/1 on test through Witham at approx 12:30pm today. RTT suggested it was on 5Q74 to Stowmarket DGL - which explains why it said Stowmarket on the front LED. I assume this would've been mileage accumulation?

Abellio Greater Anglia Class 755s (Regional Trains)

I always wondered if it would be possible to link the Sudbury-Colchester and Colchester-Clacton stopper once the new units are introducted? Mostly under the wire with only a small section requiring the use of the diesel engines. I imagine pathing/timing constraints and crew training means this...

Are there any bus vehicles left still painted in the original Arriva and First liveries?

Arriva in Kent might be a good location to find most variants: Original Corporate livery is still carried by 1608 (GN04UCY) based at Northfleet. Interurban/Cow Horns livery is still very prevalent all over. New Corporate livery has appeared on recent deliveries at Maidstone and Gillingham. Old...

    Making up lost time

Possibly some form of environmental credentials on driving styles now too. I cannot find the video on YouTube at the moment, but remember watching a British Rail era journey between Leigh-on-Sea and Chalkwell stations that showed two differing driving styles: 1. Full power leaving Leigh and...

Greater Anglia 2019 - What could possibly go wrong?

Good point, contradicted myself there! I find it slightly ridiculous the early morning P&R services over the full route, a quick glace at the timetable suggests they could do P&R site to the station and back every 10 minutes with the same number of vehicles. Every 15 minutes is still a...

Greater Anglia 2019 - What could possibly go wrong?

Chelmsford is pretty much as capacity now, it has such a big catchment area (including Braintree as the branch line service is so poor) and with the new Beaulieu estates going up this demand will get ever bigger. Colchester is the same with many housing estates shooting up, however I suspect...

    c2c more stock

I suspect more likely the other 4 car units would strengthen the busiest 4 car services out of Fenchurch Street in the evening - 1631 comes to mind!

    c2c new timetable

Yes I am aware of this, and Limehouse is also included there. Currently the fasts leave London at xx00 and xx30, the slows at xx10 and xx40...the slows lose 5 minutes stopping at Limehouse, West Horndon and Pitsea and evens out from Benfleet onwards (ignoring the Ockendon loop services)...

    c2c new timetable

I wouldn't get me started on the mess of the peak timetable, it doesn't look good. What bugs me most is the off peak timetable, between Southend Central and Shoeburyness today there is a 15 minute frequency in both directions. In the new timetable this is the same on the Up road, but Down...

    Ticket Reject Codes

I sometimes see 09, but very rarely. Odd considering my tickets live in a pouch next to my mobile! As you say RPI check makes sense based on the reply from c2c today: https://twitter.com/c2c_Rail/status/476629869259132928 Cheers All! PT

    Ticket Reject Codes

Thanks for the quick reply guys and clearing that up for me. I guess the special rule would be that c2c seem to pick random days to reject most tickets at Fenchurch Street and check them! :) Cheers, PT

    Ticket Reject Codes

Hi All, I've tried searching for the answer for this, but only found the answer for 09 which is the faulty mag strip. Today at Fenchurch Street my ticket was rejected and got a code 135 error (surprisingly managing to remember after the best part of an hour asleep). More for my interest...

    Which buses do you dislike?

Just wait until you get a ride on 4200 (YJ57EKG), thats the best Southend bus. The little DAF's are good, just small. The big DAF's are good. Some Darts are good. The other Versa's are new...thats the only good thing about them I can say.

Whats your favourite type of bus for first buses?

Sorry to break the news to you guys but MOD571P has finally earned retirement from the First empire. It has been sold to a private buyer for preservation...was there really any other option though? :) ~~~ Also I am partial to Scania OmniCity's too, Essex have 5 of them out of Chelmsford (65028...

    First Group: General Discussion

Looking wider angle at Southampton and Hilsea depots which are part of First Hamoshire too, Hilsea has 09 plated Eclipses for the 40/41 services in Portsmouth and Southampton has a few not so old Eclipses plus cascaded ex-London stock and Enviro 200's. All irrelevant as 10 new vehicles are on...

    Arriva to run on rubbish

At least they sourced another Versa when the put it up. No wait, at least they put it up to make reliability better! Ironically the bus they sourced is much better despite being older. Has a 6 cylinder Cummins engine as opposed to the 4 cyclinder Mercedes engines in the others. However 4200...

Yep, works out to £150k each  . And yes, it was with "them" .

Whats your favourite type of bus for first buses?

The 05 plated Volvo B7RLE's in great numbers from Basildon and Chelmsford in Essex (fleet numbers 66794 to 66830-ish and ex-Manchester). They have the rearward emergency door, the engines have some go in them (unlike newer ones) and tickover quite high. Plus the fanbelt usually emits a high...
