    Northern line service levels

It was the portrait plasma board at Mornington Crescent station entrance. Perhaps the board had more than one page - that might explain it. I definitely checked the board when I saw the unexpected gap but I may not have waited long enough to see an additional page.

    Northern line service levels

Yes that’s true, but mine was not the only nine minute gap, even the trains from towards the terminus into Central London were crowded, there were further 7 to 9 minute gaps that I saw on the southbound when I arrived at my destination. Presumably, if this is the aftermath of a problem...

    Northern line service levels

Ah ok - unconnected then, thanks. But unfortunate that board says good service

9 minute gap on northbound northern line (Charing x branch) at 4.30pm Monday evening peak.

Travelling from Exmouth to Warrington Bank Quay

Although not directly applicable to the case you post about, for other journeys you make this might be helpful (in case you don’t know about it already) If you are - or you are travelling with - a passenger in a wheelchair, and buying an anytime day return ticket, you and companion both can get...

Colindale station 6 month closure for rebuilding works

It will also double the cost for some people having to pay a tube and bus journey rather than one tube journey. Seems unfair.

TfL Oyster and Contactless app (iOS)

Ah perhaps they’ve already done it. I’ll try updating the TfL go app. Thanks for that. 1712413119 That’s weird, I’m running 17.4.1 Thanks

TfL Oyster and Contactless app (iOS)

I can no longer sign into this app. Having checked on the iOS App Store, not only can I see no update, the app fails to appear at all. This was never exactly the best app – it was always unreliable. But to now not seem to be able to use it at all is appalling! If those who have made the...

Off-peak removed from Potters Bar to Ashwell & Morden route (& back)

An off peak day return is £17.40. Many (probably a majority of) off peak return/day return tickets, are priced in this way with off peak singles / day singles priced at a token amount less. This will affect you if you are only making single off peak journeys. There was a trial on LNER priced...

Off-peak removed from Potters Bar to Ashwell & Morden route (& back)

BR fares (an unofficial source) shows off peak and super off peak. Have you tried buying from a ticket machine? https://www.brfares.com/!fares?orig=PBR&dest=AWM&period=20240401

Merseyrail mandates that Trainline tickets must be printed out

I can’t comment about posters’ experiences on Merseyrail because, to the best of my knowledge, I’ve never travelled on a Merseyrail service. However, quite a few posts in this thread bemoan and criticise Merseyrail for not wanting to modernise, or to join the 21st century or similar spirited...

TfL Oyster account can provide a weekly Journey History email, but can this be delivered for Contactless?

I was trying to set up a friend’s TfL contactless account. They wanted to be able to receive the same weekly pdf email which I do (I use Oyster) showing my journey history and costs. This does not appear to be possible for Contactless cards. Or can I just not see it?

I thoight london underground price was capped at around 11 pounds so wht charged more?

The OP said various separate journeys were made that day. I’m making a best guess with minimal information

I thoight london underground price was capped at around 11 pounds so wht charged more?

Yes but we also don’t know what else the OP did that day. We don’t know if the OP reached a cap. It’s possible a maximum fare or two has contributed to this. Eg £9.40 max fare plus £9.40 max fare plus £1.90 single fare Totteridge to Camden Town Equals £20.70 (50p over) By a ‘one off charge...

I thoight london underground price was capped at around 11 pounds so wht charged more?

The screenshot details the single fare. The all day cap assuming no discount would have been £12.30 between Totteridge and Leicester Square so this should have been the maximum but you may not even have reached that. Could be you’ve been charged a maximum fare or two...

I thoight london underground price was capped at around 11 pounds so wht charged more?

We would need more information, and ideally an image of your Oyster / Contactless use from an online account or image from a ticket machine. You may have been charged one or two maximum fares (for example if you touched in but not touched out or if you touched in and touched out but took too...

LNER to pilot removal of Off-Peak tickets

London to Newcastle on Good Friday morning not looking good. RIP the walk up railway

Changing to tfl at East Croydon

It is relevant that TfL don’t run services to / from East Croydon because PAYG fares from there to Canary Wharf will be rather different than - for example - if travelling from West Croydon. Eg Peak single fare, via zone 1, including tube, no discount. West Croydon to Canary Wharf £3.00...

    New National Rail website

The ‘this is not a permitted route’ message - which never used to be part of the previous iteration - now often appears for routes which TOC and other sites are happy to sell tickets for. It’s very misleading and the site is acting like a member of staff with a poor attitude This is supposed...
