Thank you, I've not used flash cards before but they sound a great idea and I will definitely try them. Not sure on which hotel yet. Pleased to have got York, not a bad train journey from my closest station of Oakham. Do the school give you a rule book that you can highlight relevant parts in or...

Excellent, be good to know what start date you get. Not sure if I will have a place reserved on the same course or if I will be on a later one. Unfortunately I'm on 10 weeks notice in my current job!

Thanks for this, very informative! Something I will try to copy. Fingers crossed I'll be at signaller school before the end of the year. Talking of notes, do signallers use log books to record information? Do you use a notebook, whilst working in the box, to make notes to help remember whats...

Yes it was very quick! The LOM who interviewed me did say he had 2 weeks holiday so I guess he wanted it all scored and sent to HR before he went, I was still expecting it to be at least next week before I heard anything though.

I had my interview Wednesday this week and I've just had an email saying I wasn't successful. It says' I met the required benchmark but another candidate scored higher than me and they want to keep my application on hold incase the offered position doesn't commence'. Does this mean I am a kind...

My weakest test was the verbal reasoning one I bought a book on verbal reasoning tests by the "How 2 become" company. I found it so useful, it has a passage you read then answer questions on that passage with true, false or cannot say. It has the answers and importantly for me explains why. Keep...

Great news to hear you have an interview too! Whether I get a position or not I genuinely hope you get a role its great to read the success stories on here from people who have a real interest in becoming a signaller and keeping plugging away at the applications to then eventually make it. Best...

Thank you! I'm keeping grounded as this is my first interview and from reading this thread I know how good the other candidates will be. Being local makes this one perfect for me. Hi, thank you! The interview is for one of the Oakham relief signaller jobs, it is very local to me as I live in Oakham. So peterborough is also an option I will apply for if I am unsuccessful. Do you live around this area as well? Good luck for your applications
