    ECML/MML major power problems (09/08)

So, despite the fact that they had agreed to issue a cheque for 25.00 (as mentioned before, I went to stay with a friend and was claiming for the price of the train ticket only, cheaper than any taxi home or hotel) and were asking my address to issue it to, I had an email from someone else in...

    ECML/MML major power problems (09/08)

My delay repay has been approved and paid for 2+ hours. However, my claim for a £25 train fare to stay at a friend's place (cheaper than a hotel or a taxi home to Hatfield from London) has been approved in theory, and they have even asked for my full address to issue the cheque to. However...

Continuing driver shortages on Great Northern

Particularly annoying that the information page on the website calls it a "short term unavailability of train crew". That really makes my blood boil when it's been an issue for years.

    GN Class 717

I've seen this on Twitter too. I can't say I've noticed the temperatures being particularly warm, although I've been on the 05.29 Hatfield - Moorgate this week, so not particularly warm outside at that ungodly hour, and my return train has been a 313 (16.45). Could it be one particular unit?

Thameslink Services / Timetable from 18 May 2019

I would presume drivers are getting sick and tired of being blamed by commuters of 'throwing sickies', when they're either on rest day or otherwise following their contracted hours. Also frustrating must be the Twitter team not really in a hurry to correct this notion.

I think the answer looks to be "appallingly". Sigh.

This is good news. For all the chat about hard seats, etc, etc. These 717s should introduce the reliability (after inevitable teething troubles to start with) that the 313s do not have, with their frequent failures.

This seems to be an issue on some 700s as well, either that or they sometimes say that the train is out of service. I presume it just needs a software upgrade of some sort across the whole fleet.

I find the legroom in front is more troublesome than the duct at the side. I do think these trains are a massive improvement on the 313s though, definitely more advantages than disadvantages.

More importantly, I got a cold bum waiting for the 5.55.

    The 5.41 FPK-MOG currently a no show..

Info screens off this morning and no announcements. Long wait at Drayton Park too, maybe they're being careful with the switch in power supply.

Passenger alarm was pulled apparently (maybe not on this train). Left a few minutes late and was holding the 3 or so minutes late until the approx 10 min delay because of the alarm.

Oh don't get me wrong, the lay out of the seats and the lack of legroom are still absolutely laughable.

I found the train broadly the same as the 700 in terms of ride. We know the seats are hard, but kinda got over it. A massive improvement over the 313s once more are rolled out.

Love everything about them, aside from the same seating configuration issues as the 700s. A vast improvement though.
