    Global Airlines launch flights announced

Agree, but they actually had a plan! Now GA have flown these two 'proving' flights, there is no indication of what's next. The A380 is also now due it's 12 yearly 'D' Check. Where is that money going to come from?

    Global Airlines launch flights announced

Apart from they are not an airline! They only own a well used A380, which is leased in HiFly to operate flights on their behalf. They are yet to even apply for an Air Operator Certificate (AOC)

    Reform UK discussion

    4. They are conspiracy theorists that believe LTN are the first step to their other favourite conspiracy theory - 15 minute cities.

    This day in railway history

Bit of a more recent one, but today 15 years ago was the last day that Mk1 EMUs carried passengers under their own power (Last day of the 3CIGs on the Lymington Branch)

Falklands War - Is it a bit, for lack of a better word, ignored?

I’d say it’s also because WWII affected the entire country. Pretty much all of us have a relative that fought in, or were greatly affected by, the Second World War. This makes it relatable to everyone. It was also the fight to protect the UK itself. Same can’t be said about the Falkland’s. I...

    Global Airlines launch flights announced

In the past, airlines have got volunteers/staff to act as passengers on a ‘simulated’ flight. ie, the aircraft sits on the ground for 12 hours, but a full meal service & IFE etc is provided to check everything works smoothly. No need for a simulator in a warehouse. BA certainly did this when...

    Football

And either Spurs or Utd will qualify for the Champions League (top level European competition) by winning the Europa League (2nd level competition). This has been a rule for over a decade and makes perfect sense!

    Football

Couldn’t imagine it now either! It was Athletic Club (Bilbao) they beat. Completely agree that league position has nothing to do with European competition. It wasn’t that long ago Wigan were playing in the Europa League (may have been the UEFA cup then) whilst being in the Championship! No one...

    British Airways

Not really a need to announce the engine type for the Airbus aircraft. It’s Rolls Royce or Rolls Royce!

Grand Central apply for Newcastle - Brighton direct

So Gatwick - Reading would take longer on this service than the existing stopping GWR. Quite impressive! (Apologies if I've misread the timetable!)

    What's your latest acquisition?

unsure exactly what the make up is, but it’s brass sides from someone, so you’re probably correct. Do my best to steer well clear of eBay when I’ve had a few sherbets!

    What's your latest acquisition?

Most recent arrival was a speculative eBay purchase. A Bachmann 4CEP in rebuilt form in South West Trains livery. Had been converted from an original CEP and repainted / heavily weathered by Emperors Path (see YouTube & Instagram) I was the only bidder and got it for just over £200 DCC fitted...

The race for the final promotion spot looking very interesting now with Charlton thrashing Wycombe earlier. Wrexham on 86, Wycombe on 84 & Charlton on 82. Most significantly, Charlton play Wrexham next weekend!

    Football

As it's the odds to be relegated this season, I'd say the timeframe was until the end of the current season.

    Football

To be relegated. Given we are still awaiting the results of the 115 (or whatever it is) charges, there is always a chance of them being relegated / expelled from the league. Interestingly, I've also seen Brighton and Newcastle with odds for relegation despite it not being mathematically...

    Thameslink Super Off-Peak Travelcards

Apologies, was referring to Travelcards. The option for one when buying from a machine didn’t come up yesterday (despite selecting Gatwick as the origin station) Came up when choosing from Three Bridges though. Since seen that Super Off Peak Travelcards are still available from Gatwick, so not...

    Thameslink Super Off-Peak Travelcards

Correct, Three Bridges doesn't however Gatwick does (and Super Off Peaks are available from there)

    Thameslink Super Off-Peak Travelcards

Seems it is only this weekend the Super off peak isn’t available from Gatwick (For whatever reason). Wasn’t available when I travelled yesterday and still isn’t today (as far as I can see). Available again from next weekend though. Fully aware they are valid at Horley (I get the train from...
